Profile can be seen in Google

Hi,

To make you aware that you don't have to be a member of Fab to see a profile. If you put in a user name and fabswingers in Google, the profile will come up.

So, maybe someone is booted but they can still get your profile and perhaps use it against you!

Seems a flaw?!

It can take a couple of weeks to come off the search though so don't keep looking as it will take longer

Interestingly you can still see the forum threads you've posted to if you do a search on your own ID

Anyone can make a profile, they just need an email address. Then they can look at your profile as much as they want. If they set their privacy settings you won't even know they looked 1,000 times a day. Or that they live on your street.

ours is set to private - - shows nothing apart from a link to a pic thats blurred out - hope nothing can be done to alter that from people with the know how

well actually that was yahoo - google shows two links where our name is used - both from forum chats

Best bet is to have a user name that is a well used phrase in the forum, such as timewaster, or pinch of salt.

That way, even if they google your name and fabswingers, your profile is lost in an ocean of useless forum posts.

Or just change privacy settings.

Or both. Whatever.

Just had a check and my privacy settings stop mine showing up but it shows up via people on my friends list who's profiles are not hidden from search engines :/ it lists me as their friend
