Bradford

Forget about the 6 Nations, proper rugby is back on Thursday.

Sadly my team are not in the Super League anymore, Bradford Bulls, but I'll be watching.

Did you notice that the prize awarded to the team winning the league (as opposed to the Grand Final) has been doubled to £100,000. Some prize, given the efforts involved.

We'll be looking to go to the Grand Final again.

We went last year courtesy of a fellow Fab'bers random act of kindness in giving us his tickets after he couldn't make it.

It's alright laughing but it probably pays much better than the League players get.

Cancelled sky sports so we can't watch at home

A trip to one or two of the venues in order

Just the last week. They've also agreed to split the leagues towards the end of the season.

The top 8 then play 7 more matches.

The bottom 4 join the top 4 from the next league down, play 7 more matches and the resulting top 4 join Super League the year after. A convoluted form of promotion/relegation.

I remember that offer, very kind and generous of him.

Which is better, and that coming from a Bulls fan. I hated the licence system.

It was an amazing night out too. He refused to have any money from us for the tickets too. What a guy

Isn't it good that these minority provincial sports continue to survive.

And grow organically, the regional coverage within the minor leagues is impressive. True sport at grass roots level.

Or as our local team often demonstrate, localised thuggery. Some of it on the pitch even. It can be rough.

Looking forward to it, with slight reserve as well, this new format could blow up in there faces, they need to bring back the shoulder charge, and ideally get rid of stevo and hemmings, they are awful and just old fashioned now,
