Is this the forgotten part of Britian? If you are trying to find, for instance, a meet in Norwich.... the `local areas` are East Midlands?? South east?? or Central London??, but if you look in the chat room, there is a specific `East Anglia` area. Please can we have one on the main website.

East Midlands includes half the country (it seems like it anyway)! People can be 150 miles or more away and still in my region. It's daft.

It's been requested numerous times though and admin haven't bothered.

Menston near Ilkley

Why not post it in every forum?

Just use your mileage option in search. It's family friendly.

Yes... But that isn't an option on all the searches available.... try searching for a meet in Norwich or Bury St Edmonds!!

Nice to see you are looking at other forums as well!!

There are many areas like that but is it not worth traveling a bit to find a quality meet rather than settling for just the peopel close by?

Says someone not in the "East Midlands", so unfamiliar with the issue.

Look at the meets and events section and tell me how I can find things near me without having to look at every ad and check every individual location.

Which areas will show you "local" meets in an area search that are 150 miles or more away?

There's travelling and then there's travelling. A 300+ round trip for a shag? Maybe for someone very special, occasionally, but not when I just want to find a meet for a weekend or odd evening!

And besides, we're not in the flipping East Midlands. Lumping us in together is stupid.

Sheffield is in the same region as Norwich FFS!

Usually masquerading as something else as well. See most profiles including the word 'hung' in their name.

I know, but saying all areas have this problem is rather dismissive when the "East Midlands" has places getting on for 200 miles apart. I don't think any other region has anything approaching that.

It is rather extreme to lump places 185 miles apart in the same area, especially when that area is what's used to find "local" meets and events!

Wasn't trying to be dismissive either, just suggesting the site designers weren't picking on east anglia in particularly.

However I take it all back, it must be horrific living in the East Midlands.

Horrific, no. Annoying, as per the OP, yes, very.

Yes, all areas are crap but "East Midlands" particularly takes the piss, particularly for anyone on the edges rather than in the middle, or in an area, like Norfolk, where the road links aren't that good.

Even then you probably only just managed it, I suspect!

The East Midlands, black hole of the UK, assimilating all, one town at a time.

Fair points but those are countries that haven't been subdivided.

That this "region" is comparable in size to a country is a joke.

I recognise that it's as difficult to search for local meets and events in Wales and Scotland as it is here, for the same reason.
