You know on the cams, when things start getting a little heated, the cam-icon turns red? I wonder if we should have something similar in here.

I keep blundering in on those shouty, angry threads, while missing the jokey ones until all the best gags have gone.

I suggest

purple: really angry

Red: highly explicit

Green: Informative

Yellow: happy

Anyone got any other colours?

yes they do. Just also happens that people tend to watch the cans with "heated" action on them. Hence OP confusion

I've never thought that the cam icon turning red has had anything to do with conversation topics.

I tend t look at the number of replies before clicking on the thread.

A large number means there's either a row in progress of like you say - somebody has probably already given all the witty replies!

It would only take one person to take something someone else says the wrong way, mark it in a certain colour and all hell would break out lol "

Oh, it would certainly be automatic, this one would have started yellow, but would already be vearing towards red, whilst all the time I was sobbing in the corner wondering why it couldn't have died on its feet like most of my other ones! (Black)

Why stop at colours? We could have little icons for all, as opposed to just the Platinum Members.

Rainbow for the would it make me bi threads.

A Guinness icon for the who's got the biggest type threads.

A pie for nasty BBW threads.

A cake for the nice BBW threads.

A gravestone for the RIP threads.

A defibrillator for the thread resurrected after 6 months.

Picture of Dracula for thread of doom that won't die at 241 posts.

A boxing glove for the ones where it is kicking off.

A toaster for Minxie's threads.

Soapbox for the rants.

A fez for ones with space for jokes.

A fez draped in black for the threads where the best opportunities for jokes have already gone.

A dead parrot for the 4th thread on that topic of the day.

A dead horse for the 3rd why won't people meet me thread by the same person.

I think we seriously need to reconsider this idea. Earlier, I may have blundered into one of those "Aren't all single men bastards" threads by accident.

I nearly didn't get out alive, and only did so by virtue of the fact that being a 'couple' I naturally couldn't understand what it was like to be a man, or single, or the concept of romance and relationships.

These forums are a minefield for us newbies....

Surely they could do a filter on the thread title and key words

Certain phrases will always generate "heated discussion", and they could be given a public health warning, or a "Here be Dragons", or "Enter if you dare"
