Hi gents hoping one of you can help. Starting a new job it involves a lot of time on my feet . Can you recommend a brand for comfort that works with suits? Tried skechers memory foam but not smart enough.

I swear by Aldo shoes but they come up quite narrow.

Have to say M&S are pretty good for work, and they do all kinds of styles and widths etc...

Can't beat a brogue.

May take time to break in, but some good quality insoles that offer padding may help. As will decent socks.

Doc martins formal shoes with air sole cost around £70 but worth every penny if your on your feet all day

Check out the Dr martens brogues. They have hundreds and I mean hundreds of styles of shoe. They are standard issue for London underground.

Other comfortable makes include Bass, Hush puppies and Ecco

But what ever you buy I recommend that you have more than one pair as your feet will benefit from different comfortable shoes as much as just comfortable ones

Just around the corner

I usually wear Loake 747Bs, which I find comfortable and hard wearing as well as aesthetically pleasing.

I also heartily endorse the previous suggestion that whatever you wear, have at least two pairs to give them a chance to rest. It's better for your feet, and the shoes will last much longer.

A good friend of mine bought some new shoes for a funeral. They had to take them off for the wake, along with everyone else. Upon their return, some git had gone off in their shoes, leaving some rather tatty ones in place.

Most comfy pair I have are from Jakes, but they are well over 10 yrs old. For the effort and expense of find a decent new pair, I just get new heels and soles for £35 and they're good as new, haven't found a pair comfier I'm afraid.

Even bespoke calfskin shoes will need a good 6 months of wear to soften up, so dont go too expensive.
