Manchester Area

Have stayed at all three of the major players in the hotel market, Tend to favour Ibis cos of the bigger room sizes, Premier Inn can be ok depending which one likewise Travelodge.

I've stayed in a lot of Premier Inns. On the whole they are great and good value. I like them, mainly because of the bed and goodnight guarantees, better than any of the other similar establishments. However I have stayed in a few that were not up to standard and on occasion have invoked the good night guarantee. That said the service when I wasn't happy has always been exemplary.

When I'm looking for good value overnight accommodation they are always my first choice if I don't fancy the more personal touch of a local B&B.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I generally like the beds and some are really good but sometimes when I need a room they are on for £130+ and I can get better hotels for less than that.

Like tonight.

Somewhere in North Norfolk

The first time I stayed in the West Brom one the room stank of stale cigarettes, (which made me feel ill because I'm allergic to tobacco smoke), and the curtains were broken and partially hanging down so I could only cover half the window and the room was flooded with light all night.

The second time it was ok but it's a reasonably priced hotel (fairly cheap at the Xtasia rates), it's nothing special.

I've stayed in good ones and bad ones. They do, at least, generally try to put things right when you complain. Not always, but usually.

I prefer Premier Inn to Travelodge although I don't think either is cheap (at full price) for what they offer. They're only worth it at special offer/advance booking rates.

I enjoy them for their comfy beds and stayed at a few over the last year, not really had many bad experiences however recently stayed in one at west brom and was a bit annoyed as got locked out my room twice, along with someone else... they gave someone else a key after i had checked in to my room and the toilet constantly filled along with the extractor fan being on all night...

Perhaps that's why my "non-smoking room" (as they all are), stank of stale cigarette smoke on one occasion and made me feel ill.

Still, as long as no smokers were inconvenienced by the non-smoking policy, that's all fine and dandy. How very outrageous of non-smokers to want a non-smoking room that doesn't stink of smoke.

When we went to Holland we stayed in a fabulous hotel, gym, swimming pool, amazing restaurant and food, didn't have to check out till 12, massive rooms with proper wet rooms for the equivalent of £60 a night for 2

Widnes

I have stayed in a few Premier Inns, usually OK for the price if they have an offer on. Travelodge I am not a fan of, very very basic most of theme.

I have been spoiled by hotels though through work, so probably a hotel snob at times, although you still beat good value.

Spend 4 nights a week, every week in hotel rooms.

Usually Premier Inn, which I think are usually pretty good.

I spend a lot of time in Southampton on business and stay in West Quay or 6 Dials.

Had the best night sleep ever in a Premium Inn bed. The beds and linen are much better quality than Travelodge. Holiday Inn was nice but didn't warrant the money. Didn't like the sheets in the Hilton so I went home

Stayed at premier inn to many times to count. Never had a problem and now usually my first choice. Travelodge, not so good im afraid. My son booked one in London recently and when he arrived they had let his room go even though it was paid for in advance. Ibis, never stayed there and Ive heard so many stories about them, I wouldn't even consider it

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

Premier Inns are much better than Travelodges, but I recommend MacDonalds for an awesome hotel experience. the one in Bath had a pool, a gym, a bed so large I could have fitted several guys in there (I hadn't arranged any fun, alas), and a guy who took my bag to my room. All through work so heaven knows how much it cost, but very nice.

The Premier Inn in Bury is good, and not too far from Partners. In fact, they do tend to be close to many swinging clubs. Hmmmm.

I have to say the Barbican Thistle in London has excellent beds.

Travelodge used to offer a breakfast box if they didn`t have a kitchen. They were crap!

Have stayed in two or three Holiday Inn Express hotels which were fine but didn`t have a good hot breakfast selection. Very much a "suits" hotel chain. The Ramada hotel in Hendesford was great apart from having to cross the car park for breakfast. Favourite hotel is the Copthorne hotel at the top of the shopping precinct in Plymouth. Worst two hotels I ever stopped in were also in Plymouth! The Jurys Inne is used by visiting coach trippers and breakfast time is like the gibbons feeding time at the zoo! There is also no car parking on site at all! The other bad Plymouth hotel was the Comfort Hotel on the edge of the Ho! Brilliant views across the harbour but that`s where it ends! Windows that wouldn`t shut. Taps that you couldn`t tell which was which resulting in what could have been scalded hands. Visible iron re-enforcing sticking out of the concrete cancer affected wall panels! I could go on and on! Fortunately, this hotel is closed and pencilled in for demolition!

I didn't like the bed there - I was only there for a meet though and didn't stay to sleep.
