those fkn bills

anybody feel like they are drowning with money troubles - every month the credit card amount owing goes that little bit higher - and every month something else goes wrong - one month was the laptop - then i popped an almost new tyre - then xmas (where the only people that got anything were the kids)- then gas and leccy bill last month - the snow has brought down a roofing tile and ive just had the post for the car tax (going to have to be 6 months worth not 12 this time) - its never ending - think im going to leave home

Getting there yeah.

My tax bill has gone up loads this year, despite my earnings going down. On top of that my rent has gone up as well. Levy bill was £100 more than usual just for this quarter too. Sick of this tbh.

On a plus side my family has become mostly vegetarian now coz of the price of food now we cut right back on meat, so we are becoming healthier.

There is always something needing to be paid. I've got my final balance to pay in my birthday celebrations this month which is £350 and three birthdays of people I buy presents for. It goes in one hand and out the other

You pay that little bit more but it's sometimes easier my old car used to be 375 for the year so was a right stinger !!

Now my new one is only 30 for a full year !!

you could try switching your credit card to a zrero percent one so you can pay the balance off without interest. There's a small fee of 1-2%, less than the monthly interest rates. It really can help you get on track when things are mounting up

Sounds like you either need an additional source of income (another job, extra hours etc), sell something so that you can get some cash to pay your debts or reduce your expenses.

There are some good websites for debt advice with strategies to help you get back on your feet.

starting a new job in april - its just tough whilst girlie is at uni - once shes earning she will contribute or move out

Sometimes it feels like we are both working our arses off for sweet fa. Not a month goes by that we don't have to dip in to our disposable income for one reason or another. We are like ships that pass in the night at times due to shift work etc. We have had to postpone our family holiday this year due to needing a new cooker, a £400 garage bill amongst other things. In one hand out the other.

A lot of people may have more than me but everything i own is bought and paid for

i totally agree - but have a serious back problem that limits my hours of work - have had a couple of stints off work ill with this and used up the last of savings i had to cope with this (only get ssp)- never owed money before in my life so feeling a bit overwhelmed at the minute thats all -

i dont go out - dont drink or smoke - eat very basic - so i know how to budget - just cant budget for certain things keep going wrong

Grantham.

Just reduced my gas / electric bill by switching to a "fixed" deal until Nov 2016, not much but still it is a reduction, reduced monthly amount by £9, not much, but they also gave me £100 High street vouchers for shopping.

Nice for me just because it is a saving of £184 this next year.

its ok - the only debt i have is the credit card - own my home and car - no bank loan - just hate owing ggrr

Been in trouble with money before,now I i want anything work more hours and then buy it,I don't have any savings as such but as others have said everything I have is paid for,I have got quite a large overdraft which sometimes I have to go into but again this is paid before I get charged,don't live beyond your means.

Within two minutes I was on the phone and luckily it turned out to be a decimal point misplaced.

That's better than the 78 year old pensioner who got a Tax bill for £4.7bn....they did say he can pay it in instalments though, at £950m a month

That's what I did. 36 months interest free on balance transfers. Think it cost me £40 to change it over. Now I just pay the minimum £25 a month and it'll be cleared off by the time the 3 years is up. I had 18 months on the first one so I've basically had a loan for 4.5 years that's only cost me £40 interest

OP could your daughter get a part time job to help out with the bills? Look up Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis. His website has allsorts of tips.

In most areas you pay your council tax over 10 months, so get February and March off. Think the water rates are often the same. Could this be a chance to feel back on track a little bit?

i pay mine monthly and think i do this but had forgotten so hopefully this will cover the cost of the roof
