I'm not sure what you'd expect, but I'm sure that the cat would probably hurt the mouse

Sounds like a field mouse, our cats like to bring them home some times live and sometimes just bits

Finding guts and the odd nose on the deck in the morning is a great way to start the day

The mouse is in the shed? I reckon its got its own way of getting in and out so as long as you remove the seed it will probably not come back.

Yes, mice love birdseed. Simply remove the food supply and the mouse/mice will go elsewhere.

I assure you mice can get through very very small holes, so if it wants to get into your house, it will already be there.

I assume you didn't leave a trail of seed between the shed and the door?
