So I log onto the Sky Sports app this morning and find 13, yes, THIRTEEN news stories about the impending Chelsea-Manchester City match today.

Is there any need? There are 18 other teams in the Premier League, plus 72 teams in the Football League, not to mention the Scottish and Welsh teams. Little bit of coverage for them perhaps? Not everyone cares about the two title-buyers.

Exactly. If you hadn't have mentioned that Celtic and Rangers were playing in that other thread, I never would've known! Preposterous! I personally find that game worthy of a lot more coverage than Chelsea-Man City. For a start, the rivalry is immense, and secondly, the fact that they haven't played each other for such a lengthy period makes it highly anticipated in my view.

To be honest I can understand the coverage, it is the probably the biggest game of the season in the EPL and will decide what's what!

However, what I can't understand is absolutely no coverage of the Asian Cup Final (from both Sky or BBC) and is currently being played in Sydney with Australia beating South Korea 1-0 at H/T!

Don't understand that?

Thats what I hated about the prem league last year, they talk about 4 teams and thats that.

Very over rated.

Sky pay billions to get exclusive live rights to the premier league - of course they are going to hype it up.

As someone that loves watching football live at a stadium and not on TV , I have to say bring back the terraces ,shit fatty pies , cheap tickets and the rest and fuck sky off.

3-5 stories, even that would be fairly excessive, but 13? Sorry, but there's no justification for that. What about the other games on Sky TV? Surely they should hyped up just as much because less people would know about them being on TV.

You're right, I was playing devils avocado. I enjoy football at all levels and know enough about my team not to have it rammed down my throat. That said I will up have my popcorn and lemonade by my side at 5pm, and my sky remote, which is bigger than my cock at the ready

Unfortunately on merit they would make championship at best.....

I think they'd get to the premiership in time. With the history of the club etc.

True though, but Sky just know how to make a lot of money, that's all they want too.

Think of it this way, the epl is the biggest league in the world, Chelsea v man city is a big game now champions vs champions to be, you mentioned Scottish and Welsh football but be honest they aren't really attractive leagues to be in or play in, these matches are big news and subsequently will get lots of air time

at the moment,,but with sky money, celtic would be a force to be reckoned with,,people down south have no idea how big they are,a huge world wide support,id say only man utd are bigger, who would you play for celtic with 60,000 fanatical fans every other week or west ham, southampton, spurs etc, with sky money they'd attract the players all right.

its not gonna happen though,,never

It's a global business and the premier league is seen by many as the most exciting in the world. It's natural that there will be interest in a battle between the top two. As a chelsea fan, even if they win today I don't think it's over. Their away form suggests points will be dropped too often

It's even worse coverage if you follow a sport like Rugby League... Premier League footy has swallowed all other sports coverage up.
