Good evening Fabbers

The pooch and I were sharing an Asda generic Twix. Its sold in a single bar as not to confuse the hard of thinking.

It was rather delish, th epoch an I agreed a perfect homage to the blessed twix itself.

This inspired a deep debate and in the spirit of paying tribute to past glories and tipping a wink to famous bands and artists .

What's your Favourite cover version of a song.

Mine would have to be

Blinded by the Light by Manfred Mann and his earth band . ... Original recorded by Bruce Springsteen

The Pooch says

Gabriel Aplins ... Power of Love ,, originally Frankie goes To Hollywood ..

We look forward to hearing your choices

now to munch a generic asda mars bar

There are a few songs where I like the original and the cover equally. A New England springs to mind (love the Billy Bragg but prefer to sing along with the Kirsty MacColl) and Too D*unk To Fuck (Dead Kennedys wins but the Nouvelle Vague version is fantastic). The Suckerpunch soundtrack has some great cover versions of The Pixies and The Smiths as well.

Worcester

Try, 20syl remix of ed sheeran.

Some people will see remix and go ugh but it's music I deem as good for the mind and soul, creative music if that makes sence

Van Halen's cover of You Really Got Me is epic.

Gary Moore's cover of The Messiah Will Come Again is something all guitar players should hear.

"Good evening Fabbers

"

Prefer Santana's version of "She's not there" , to the original Zombies version, though both are good. Also Joe Cocker's "With a little help from my friends" is in my opinion better than the Beatles version.

Forgot to mention, Guns n Roses version of "Live and let Die", better than Macca's version.

How on earth is Guns n Roses version better? It's exactly the same except that the singing is worse.

If we all thought the same, it would be a very boring and predictable world.

Personally, I've always thought that The Housemartin's cover of Caravan of Love is probably the best cover song ever..... It took a rather non-descript Motown B-side and made it into something special.
