little house on the praire

Did you have a comforter as I child? I had nothing no dummy or teddy I carried or anything. My sister had a piece of material she used to suck on.

My son didn't have anything either as I really hate dummies.

But now at the grand old age of 49 I have my first comforter, I call it my snuggly and its a cuddly sheep that you put in the microwave for 2 minutes to warm it up

Used to suck my middle finger and had to caress my cotton pillow case. Happy to say the moment I got pregnant I gave it up lol

I used to suck my thumb and have a little pink soft doll (which I still have )

My daughter also sucks her thumb and religiously carries around a little soft mouse. She's only 1. Lol

Ha, getting your oats on a daily basis, eh! Actually they're great, our teen has one and filling a teddy or whatever with oats is a genius idea. Back on topic, we didn't use a dummy either, a little teddy giraffe minus the oats was the "comfort", still takes pride of place on the bed looking pretty good too especially for 13 years of age.

I never but my sisters did. They both sucked their thumb, one had a pillow case she carried around and the other her cot blanket.

I think I had a dummy but it was taken off me at a young age.

For some strange reason I used to like things between my toes, blankets etc. I still do this, I'm doing it now with a throw that is on the sofa.

I never had a dummy, none of my children had dummies.

Kent

My lad had a dummy until he was 2. I chose that route as I know loads of people that had kids still sucking their thumb when they were much older and you can't take away a thumb

A girl I know her boy is nearly 4 and he is forever sucking on the corner of a muslin cloth. She's having a terrible time getting him to give them up.

my goddaughter still has hers and she's 25 it started of as a pillow case and now its about three inches square, but she's always been poorly and every time she's in hospital she takes it with her.

no matter

Yes I had a blanket had to have blanket stitch edge tho.. No dummy

Daughter liked the ribbon on a bound blanket. She would tickle her cheek with it.

Son made me laugh back last summer when he used the last bit of a very colourful nightie of mine( his comforter) for a decorative breast pocket hanky for a wedding. love 'em

I had piece of silky blanket that I used to rub against my lip as I sucked my thumb

I still had it when I left home even though it was in shreds

Now you have reminded me of it I'm having pangs of longing for it

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I had a little pillow, but only at bedtime and if I was ill. I had it until I was almost 30.
