strange things...

i got home from work and decided to take a bath and chill out. when I went in the bathroom, realised that something wasn't quite right. my washing basket wasn't there. checked in both bedrooms, nope not there, not in the lounge nor the kitchen.

appears the gremlin workmen have been in and emptied the entire contents of my washing basket onto the balcony (i live in a flat)!

nothing valuable stolen, lap top was still on the floor where i left it this morning etc.

feel safer now i've had the locks changed!

If my dirty laundry is all over the house and garden it usually means my dog has been bored and dragged the basket and contents everywhere!

If you are sure that you didnt move it yourself, and that you dont have a dog that would have done it, or anyone else that may live with you, then I hope you have reported it to the police.

I would be 100 times more frightened if someone had been into my house and looked through personal items. If valuable items werent taken then the motive wasnt to make money. If you are a single woman living on her own and someone has been in your house looking through your laundry basket, then what do you think the motive could be?

Has it learnt how to post items out yet and bank the £10?

yes, i live on my own and was quite alarmed. not allowed to have dogs at pets. first I thought I was going crazy, had i moved it? to find my stuff strewn across the balcony. the door was locked so it was quite a deliberate action of taking the basket and flinging it across the bathroom.

the police came last night and were very supportive. they seem to think that one of the workmen has played a prank and not theft (monetary) motivated. anyway the locks were changed shortly after.

all very weird.

i'm contacting the conractors on monday to tell them i've changed my locks. im off on hols on monday.

Hmmmmm okay.

1. On what day did you arrive home to take a bath?

2. When did you last see the basket in the bathroom?

3. On what day did the contractor give you back your keys?

4. Is the basket still on the premises?

all this happened yesterday detective crumpet. the basket neatly fits under the wash basin, next to the toilet.

got home from work last night to have my bath and chill, and noticed it wasn't there. thought i was going crazy, had i moved it to another room? the kitchen in anticipation for my washload?

realised i'm not going bonkers and realised that someone had been in. the door was locked on my return home. i then checked the front room, lap top was where i had left it and for some reason i looked onto the balcony and there was my laundry, scattered all over the balcony, including the basket and the balcony door had been relocked.

my front door was replaced a few weeks ago and the keys were posted through my letter box the day before. but the contractors must have kept a spare aside one for the purpose of completing works.

last night i had my locks changed.

All in a good cause, the local urchins are the first ones on the estate to have a sail soap box cart.
