Well I was already first aid trained, and today me and 10 other members off staff were trained on how to use a heart defibrillator, a very nice peace of kit, and pretty much idiot proof, hope I never need to use it for real, but we got told on the course that in the UK on average in primary school 3 kids per week die from a stroke Bloody hell I would never have put the figure that hi, and if you don't have the defibrillator at your place of work, the odds of you surviving is only 6% so maybe all places of work should have them.

We sadly lost a player during a game of football 10yrs ago!

Cardiac risk in the young (cry) kills 12 children a week just in the U.K.

The charity CRY offer for a fee of £35 a examination & heart screening to children aged 13-18yrs

It's good that finally positive action is being taken

D xxxx

Brighton - even Hove!

The defibs literally talk you through it. Almost idiot proof. Most adults who collapse do so because of circulation problems, moat kids due to breathing. Remember that.

Done CPR and used a defib twice now. Certainly gets the adrenaline pumping.

On both occasions they survived.

I work there three or four times a month, shooting rally, the single seaters on the Stowe track and supercars/whatever else is going round on the main track.

Congratulations, but why link a statistic on childhood strokes (CVA's) with a defib? Don't try defibrillating a patient presenting symptoms of a stroke - you'll kill them, and that won't look good on your cv

See a few in passing, rather than actually meeting them.
