" Contact a housing charity directly? They'll know who has genuine need. " They tend to refer people to community furniture projects, who usually resell the furniture (albeit cheaply). I've tried this in the past.

"Don't know if there everywhere but we have a thing called called home start, you give your stuff to them and then people who are setting up home like young families or anyone in need they give it to them" I'll see if there's one here. I thought about contacting a domestic violence charity to see if there's any way I could donate it to someone recently rehoused or about to be rehoused. The worst they can say is that they can't help, I suppose.

Also the homeless section of ur local authority (they have temp accommodation and often people need stuff) or look at homeless shelters in ur area? Foodbank always have people in need of not only food but items including bedding, household items and clothes

"We once donated a 3 and 2 seated Sofas to a local Charity that helped the poor and on benefits etc.. Just so happens about a few months later we actually found it in a friends house.. The CHARITY - had only charged them 300quid for it !!! Charity ripping off the poor.. whats next That's sad.. " This is exactly what I want to avoid. I don't think it's actually good enough for them to have the cheek to sell, (it is a bit faded, but would do someone trying to get back on their feet). Mind you, sometimes organisations have more cheek than I give them credit for.
