Good evening Fabbers .

Hope you all had a lovely day.

Crashed on the sofa with the pooch. He and I were just talking about concerts.

My favourite was

Def Leppard and Tesla in Manchester Apollo. 1987.

I was a young nipper taken by his big cousin.

Perfect gig two bands on form.

Seen heaps of bands and artists since , spanning all the musical spectrum. This gig still rates as the best.

So what was yours ?

Titz Towers, North Notts

It may be a Ross Noble gig I went to. I was going to say one involving Kitson, Cochrane, Thompson, Vegas and Foot, but Foot let that one down and nicked the atmosphere.

I went to see the late Michael Jackson on his Dangerous Tour in 1992 at Wembley.

Whatever anyone thinks / thought of him, he certainly knew how to put on a show.

Recently went to see Brian May and Kerry Ellis at a local theatre. Awesome show - and much of it an unexpected surprise.

Also seen the Australian Pink Floyd a couple of times- pretty spectacular.

But I would maintain that the best of all of these was Jacko. Just an awesome spectacle.

But not really a full gig, for that I'd nominate the 4 for Wiz memorial gig at Islington Acadamy.

I think I'm enjoying gigs more as I get older. Prefer the smaller venues. I saw Van Morrison in a jazz club just before Christmas and that is right up there with the best I've seen.

The smiths at Brixton is hard to beat , and everytime I've seen Ian Dury and the blockheads it has been excellent.

Loads to pick from, first time the smiths came over to Belfast, the ramones 1986, when u2 played belfast with about two weeks notice on the popmart tour in 1997.

I could go on and on.

David Bowie Roker Park Sunderland Glass Spider Tour 23 June 1987... He came on stage and said "Good evening Newcastle" didn't go down to well,He was shite but I only went because Big Country were supporting and they rocked the place so much , half way through Bowies show the crowd were chanting for more Big Country

There has been so many over the years...stand out gigs...any Ramones gig...of which there has been many...the Edinburgh Playhouse stands out...Joy Division supporting the Buzzcocks at the Glasgow Apollo and Nirvana at Glasgow Uni in 91.

There are many more...hard to pinpoint the best...

First gig is always one of the best, AC/DC, Razors Edge, Wembley Arena 1991 for me.

Other than that lots of special gigs, Public Enemy in a small club in Reading last year. Iron Maiden at the Garage (now LA2) Utah Saints, David Bowie at Phoenix Festival 1996. Ahhh I could go on!

Eddie

I went to see the Glass Spider tour twice. First time buyers Roker Park and then on to Main Road. Can't which venue he was backed by Screaming Blue Messiah but they were dreadful. . He also had Terrace Trent D'arby but best of the back ups was Allison Moyet . . . Some great bands mentioned by all here. I'm jealous of the ones who saw Ian Dury & the Blockheads, Floyd and Dylan

no matter

I have 3 best gigs.. All Scissor Sisters

The first two in Brighton where we all dressed up for the first DVD two amazing nights with the band..2004 After parties down on the beachside club. The 3rd was at Brixton Accademy Halloween Night. was an amazing evening topped of with us all (The band and friends) going to a gay club near by. I was dressed as a dominatrix resplendant in vinyl mini skirt and whip with a nailed choke collar.

They are the successors to The B52s IMHO

But not really a full gig, for that I'd nominate the 4 for Wiz memorial gig at Islington Acadamy. "
