Trouble Sleeping?

I'm having really bad sleeping problems. Just don't feel tired until around 6am and it's doing my head in! I've tried sleeping tablets. Both herbal and from the doctor. I've tried pointless relaxing music meditation n all that bollocks. Just can't switch off. Any tips?

and yes I've tried logging off fab and leaving it alone.

Think I just need a nice hunk to tire me out.

"Same here do u work out? "

Not really but I do stuff. like I'm not just sat around all day. It's the same when I've done a long shift at work I can still never sleep properly

I've given in and have two three hour naps per day instead of expecting to sleep all night. Is difficult when working but I manage it most days by nipping to bed as soon as I get in from work for an hour or two.

Yeah I know you weren't haha. I do drink coffee but only a couple of cups a day I dont have any on a night time. I might attempt to go for a run or a power walk to see if that might help

have you ever tried ASMR ?

Search it on YouTube, it's people talking very softly that can trigger tingles in your head , shoulders and back if you are susceptible to ASMR and can send people to sleep very effectively.

There's many ASMR artists on YouTube, Google it to read more about it, works brilliantly for me.

Being out in the fresh air in the day always guarantees me a good night's sleep otherwise my daily download of the archers does the trick.

Yeah I could sleep when I would do stuff on a night. But I work on an evening and getting home at 1am I'm a bit Limited. I could go running but that late at night I can't imagine is too safe. I'll just have to start drinking more wine!

Ah yes, if I come in late or I'm unsatisfied with the day, sometimes I sit at the computer for hours mindlessly trying to unwind. Reading a book in bed however is almost guaranteed to send me strait to sleep, I can never get anything read!

I tend to go through spells where I sleep well and then don't. I usually find after job number 2 I struggle sleeping.. for example tonight... I don't tend to switch off til gone 1am, and this morning I was awake at 4.45am!

Google sleep hygiene.

It's all stuff like making sure you go to bed at exactly the same time each night so your body clock knows when to be sleepy, and no screen time for an hour (at least before bed), etc.

No caffeine for hours before bed.

A good one is making sure you get exposure to sunlight in the mid to late afternoon.

And proper exercise is crucial. Human being were designed to move around all day, not sit in front of a desk.

I think it's magnesium that helps with restless leg syndrome.

South East Midlands NOT

I can't have caffeine after 2pm as otherwise I'm awake all night. Maybe try only having decaf after lunch?

Yep, you need to be well and truly snagged shitless and left for dead lol, if you weren't so far away Id offer my services.

All joking aside, you need routine and to reset your body clock, I have bouts of insomnia (normally too much on my mind...including sex) soak in the bath before bed, warm milk, all the old fashioned stuff and stay away from anything that engages your mind before going to bed ...

Tv...radio...fab.

Don't start on the wine! Before you know it you will have a psychological attachment to it and you will need it to fall asleep. First it's a glass then two then a bottle. Trust me 15 years in hospitality tought me that the hard way.

It sounds like you have an active mind. I have suffered with a similar problem for years, late nights, stressful job keep my mind ticking when the body is not willing. I went to see a body specialist who basically gave me a massage and tought me how to breath to relax. It's no longer 100% effective but it's helped over the last two years.
