Hereabouts

Cruel. Although saying that, my cat looks adorable in a Santa outfit. Too bad he can't walk when he wears it!

no matter

Ridiculous except for a nice winter coat on a shorthaired dog..

in Lancashire

can see with some breeds in the winter that they are necessary and some owners use them to keep the post walk cleaning duties to a minimum but 'dressing them up' is wrong..

had someone ask us if we were going to put our collies in coats, like no..

My greyhound has a coat for the winter its not cute he need it, they are not built for the cold, I have a Labrador too I wouldn't dream of putting him in a coat because he don't need one

The only appropiate clothes for an animal is a horse blanket.

I also have a part time whippet cross greyhound, I say part time because he's actually my daughter but while she's at uni he's here more than with her, he has a coat too for the same reason, he's not built for the cold, him and the greyhound really feel it, they actually shake if you take them out in this whether without anything on

I think dog coats are totally different though.

What about tutu's and tshirts and blingy accessories?

I tried to put a Christmas pudding outfit on one of my cats and the poor soul hated it, so no cute factor there, just a cruel human!

Our dachshund puppy wears a coat when we take him out he's 5 month old, short haired, had about 2 inch of ground clearance and it's been 12 inch of snow were we live

It's cruel if they don't need it (I get the need for coats etc. on some breeds in cold weather). It is bloody funny sometimes though and I have put a hat on my cat before now just to see her look of disgust.

...Up on the Downs

It's disrespectful if it's for amusement. Animals don't like being mocked on the whole.
