Why do some people get so upset that I'm not meeting or chatting with new people at the moment and make that clear on my profile? I have had several messages since I put I'm not looking for new people accusing me of several things: wasting people's time (I didn't ask them to message, in fact asked them not to), I'm an idiot for wanting to be so isolated (as if meeting new people is the entire sum of my existence), need to be on Facebook instead (cannot look at pics of cocks on there or post in salacious forums), blah, blah, blah.

And before you say it.......my profile isn't hidden because I feel its rude to do so when I post on here or chat in chat rooms, people should be able to see who I am. And I don't use filters for similar reasons, often get people message privately when they have been interested in a thread where I've posted.

Why do these people feel that its a personal affront to them, so much so they risk whatever the penalty is for being reported for abusive messages? A conundrum indeed

Sometimes I may message someone who is not meeting, just to say thanks for sharing their wonderful pics (especially if it has a nice arse on them), but I never expect or need a reply.

I certainly wouldn't be upset if they didn't or just deleted it.

If you delete everything (men) from your 'looking for' list it takes you off the searches.

I get no hassle. It's great.

It doesn't upset me particularly getting these type of messages I just wonder what sort of person feels compelled to write them? I sometimes itch to message people who describe themselves as athletic when actually they are a fattie, but I resist because I don't want to upset people and would it make any difference to me what they call themselves! No, not really, but not meeting or chatting must be the mist heinous crime deserving of such vitriol

Happens to a lot of people, you're far from alone. I'd guess there's a variety of reasons - frustrations, ignorance, desperation, chancers etc.

Sadly it's a part of the site for all - you'll attract more attention if you regularly update your profile pics, forum interaction and all the good stuff. Sure you know that already - it's just a case of filters, and as you want to leave them open, which I totally get, just block and move on I suppose is all I can advise.

Also, I think someone said on another thread a while ago - if you remove all of your interests it means you don't show up on search results? Unsure, but that might help in terms of numbers / messages.

It has never even occurred to me that people found me by using search!! Seriously, I hadn't even thought about where they found me, just assumed was from seeing me post on forums or in chat? Or maybe using who's near, durrrr!

I find it weird they'd message you initially saying that! I say the same in my profile. I still get loads of the usual "fancy a fuck" messages, but no abusive ones. Definitely try amending your filter!
