"shortly after message is read feature work? As in, how soon after the message being read are they removed? I always thought this would be a good feature, and I've just noticed that it's been introduced, but I was just wondering what it actually does." If you are talking about programs like SnapChat - the app downloads the photo and then deletes it from the network and doesn't save it after a predetermined amount of time set by the sender. There are versions which allow you to save the photo to your phone - just as if you pressed power/home on a phone. Nothing is foolproof. If you send something - don't expect it to be 100% safe and secure.

"No, the OP is referring to the new private message option on here when attaching pics: you can set the images to expire so the recipient can receive and view, but not keep. (unless they screen print, download, etc) So it just gives the sender a little more control. I can't see the expiry timescale though, which would be good to know. " Didn't know this as I never send people photos - my photos are all in my galleries. As you can't stop people doing a screen grab - unless Fab release a dedicated app - it's hardly worth the effort implementing such a mechanism.
