Firstly did it used to work but has now stopped ?

Does the rad you're bleeding have a thermostatic rad valve ?

turn all the others off, see if it gets warm then open each radiator a half turn to see if they can all be warm. turn up your pump if you can.

Have you opened other rad valves recently? Could be imbalance in flow to all rads..

Make sure that the thermo isn't stuck ,they some times get stuck .Try giving the metal part of the valve a light tap ,this may be enough to loosen the pin

As long as you're not using a sledge hammer you'll be ok

Have you turned all the other rads of and see if this rad stays hot ?

first check to see the valve on other end is open the amount of people that dont open them you would be surprised at

heres a way to run it

shut all the other radiators down including your circulator bathroom

leaving the cold one running this forces the water down this radiator only do it for 5 mins though if it dosnt flush through with red hot water into it then its the valves or a bad air lock in it

as the flush through should shift it if it has done reopen the other radiator valves again as they might be some air in the system

sticking valves open to full on give them a spanner knock at valve point where it enters the radiator then screw it down again and repeat a few times this normally losens them

radiator staying cold always in one room becareful of this one if near the bathroom / circulator radiator as if its fully open it will rob from the other radiators as its an open valve

most radiators are set around 3 - 3.5 in each room and its up to them how much more heat they want in a room

another query is your boiler bar pressure around 1 bar 1.5 bar pressure usually in the green if not it needs topping up as well

Turn off the valves to all of the other radiators.......... except the one which is cold.

then turn your room thermostat to a high setting, and the thermostat on your central heating boiler also. Turn your contoller to hot water off / central heating on, and this will blast the hot water straight through the cold radiator to expel any air- or sludge which is there.

Once the bad radiator has been working again for a good few minutes, open up the other radiator valves gradually one by one, till the whole system is nicely hot.

If there is a room such a bathroom where a radiator is highest, be prepared to bleed a lot of air out after the purge.

Good luck and happy swinging!
