Can a woman wear to much make up and so make herself older that she is?. There was one profile i saw today, and i guessed she was in her later 40's. Turned out she was 35. I'm sure it was because she has put to much make up on, and it made her look older than she is.

However in answer to your question....sometimes make up can make you look older I remember as a teenager wearing make up to get into pubs because I believed it made me look older. However if make up is put on correctly it should show up certain features such as eyes etc it shouldn't make you look older.

Yep!!

As you get older you should wear less make-up - not more - as it settles in any wrinkles you may have - particularly eye-make-up!

Hence I wear less make-up at 46 than I did at 26, go for a fairly natural look, and opt for a good fake tan on my face rather than foundation as it stays on better and doesn't find any wrinkles to settle into!!

I don't like super orange fake tanned girls. They tend to have inch thick makeup on too. Sometimes, less is more.

I wear loads of make up, I don't think it particularly ages me yet though as I'm good at it. I'll have to stop getting spots before I start getting wrinkles, otherwise I'll be a caked up old hag in no time

Touch of mascara

Perhaps a brush of foundation

A little lip gloss

I either wear no make-up at all or spend ages doing my eyes properly. If it's a really special occasion I may even wear foundation. I don't really know if I look younger or older either way since I am used to my face in both modes and they both look like me. Although I do get asked for ID more often without make-up.

These days, I tend to wear, tinted moisturiser,I forgoe the powder,a lot of the time, it settles in lines, and makes me look like hagrid!!

Don't really wear eyeshadow, love my eyeliner, mazzy, and since going dark, my deep red lipstick.

near the sounds of the wimborne quarter jack!

Saw a lady who was 40s/50s and her make-up was such that you felt you could get your fingernails around the outside of her make-up and pull the "mask" off where it was so poorly applied. Seemed there was no attempt to blend her foundation in to the surrounding skin!

I'm a great believer in if you make your eyes up heavily than go for a nude lipstick and vice versa. I also always wear Benefits primer.

Most people don't think in look my age so must be doing something right.

I don't wear make up unless I'm going out and then it's just minimal.

I used to plaster the stuff on as a teenager, kind of didn't have time to bother after having kids. But yes, poorly applied make up can age a lady

My best friend ask me this before xmas after a few comments.

With just a little attention to her eyes and a hint of colour she is gorgeous.

I proved it to her by taking her out and noting the difference in the attention she got.

Well she obviously wasn't very good at applying the makeup in the first place then. If I don't wear my usual face, everyone spends all day asking me if I'm tired/not well/a bit peaky. Some people don't suit the natural look, I am one of them. My husband and friends would agree with me on this.

If it's well applied, makeup doesn't look caked on. The difference is in the application not the amount.

Some people do use too much without a doubt. I don't like the feel of foundation on my face so I only wear a teeny bit to even up my skin tone,and only if I'm going out

That's just it - she is VERY good at applying it.

BUT years of guys/ex's/adverts/etc have made her and far too many others think if they aren't wearing a full face to take the bins out/school run/Asda then they are ugly and worthless.

She and many others I know aren't and when they are natural, chilled and smiling then no make up in any form is needed.

I use 11 dif profucts for my normal day to day makeup.. But most people think i am only wearing a small amount on my eyes!

Being blessed with good skin means i apply very little of the products and blending is the key really

I know I dont need to wear makeup and will go out without it but i know certain products enhance my features and rather than distract from them

I never wear make up on a day today basis,my moisturizer is tinted. When I'm going out or having a meet I put tinted mousterizer on, mascara, lippy and some times a bit of blusher.

Had a photo shoot a couple of years ago and had to wear heavy make up, it was terrible made my face look weird, I thought everyone on the bus was staring at me (obviously they weren't but I was so self conscious I might as well worn a mickey mouse mask.

I hate to see you girls with foundation on, they don't need makeup you have lovely Skin at that age and ruining themselves, I didn't buy first foundation until I was 35

It's a little bit patronising to suggest women who wear lots of makeup have been brainwashed into it. Good for her if she looks better and if she doesn't want to wear it.

I know what I like, and I know what suits me. And I WANT to wear makeup, I love the creativity of it and the process of sitting applying it, trying different looks and enhancing different features.

Some women suit cut off denim shorts, wavy hair and no makeup. Other suit styled hair, corsets and lipstick. Both choices are equally valid.

I wear eye make up and lipgloss everyday as I know I look better with it. I only wear foundation if I'm going out for the night. I hate the feel of it on my face and my skin is quite good so I don't feel I need to wear it.
