Just watching This Week. Caroline Lucas MP is trying to justify the green party wanting to decriminalise BDSM (is it actually criminal?) and all kinds of other stuff....but thinks p3 of the Sun should be banned.

now fair enough...the Sun is shite and should perhaps be banned for being shite....but can we take this party seriously?

Andrew Neil summed it up when Lucas said she was happy to see nudes in galleries and museums but that page 3 should be banned, and he replied "so it's OK for the middle class but not the working class?"

ps - my take is that the Sun should ditch it because it's tacky and no longer popular, but - especially in the wake of the Charlie Hebdo incident and the furore over the freedom of the press - it definitely should not be banned.

If it counts as hypocrisy then it's the weakest I've seen. I think getting rid of sex laws that affect consenting adults is a good thing that a mature society should do though.
