Going to Whitly Bay with 5 other guys on a golfing weekend, where should we go at night and where should we avoid.

Is it still a great party town?

I believe even The Spanish City has closed. Maybe best to head for The Bigg Market. Guaranteed rumpy-pumpy.

Good news is that all is not lost! The Dome (ex Spanish City) is having a referb and will likely house the library!

You have the Carlton for Bingo, an exciting night out if I ever saw one!

The Sylvester Ballroom for your chance to "cut a rug"!

And a visit to St Mary's Lighthouse should while away ten minutes or so.

If you are feeling lucky, you can try your luck with the ladied at the Rosemont Care Home.. (watch out for Agnes! Her teeth are real!!!)

Whitley Bay aint what it used to be. Spanish City was indeed closed down a few years ago now.

It still has a lot of pubs, clubs and take aways on the sea front. But it's all a bit low rent.

Having said that if all you're after is getting pissed and waking up in a B&B next to a dubious looking skank who lost her friends on a hen night and looked waaaay better with beer goggles on then Whitely Bay is frikin AWESOME!!!

nowt wrong with whitley bay,we go every year for a lads weekend.plenty lap dancing clubs on the main street to keep you occupied on saturday afternoons.we will be there again in november

We went for a day out.. Never got out of the car.. Went to sunderland instead.. That was better but Jesus never again the ratio od betting shops and wilkinsons to other shops was too high

Indeed! Also try and get out of the main shopping mall (The Bridges) without passing a Greggs. There 4 Greggs to every one Wilkinsons/Herons/PoundStretcher.

Whitley Bay is freezing even in August. The wind comes straight in from the Baltic.

and no one catches taxis into town... get the metro.. saves valueable beer money....

seriously.. a sat night down there isn't too bad.. but does close down early......

thanks for all the advice we'll be down no matter what peeps say. and yes we're comig down to golf, whitley bay is just our base. We're playing slayley hall and another couple of courses in the area.

I'll let you know how we get on, and if any of the guys encounter any hen parties, I'll be tucked up in bed with my cocoa lol
