Just don't seem to be excited about their own birthday, my son is 15 today, got prezzies and cards, living room full of balloons and banners, lazy sod is still in his pit reluctant to get up until it's "time".

its cos kids have way too much now - dont think the build up of having that special day is the same as when we were little - ffs i got excited about a new colouring book and a pack of 5 felt tip pens when i was little (not a teen i might add)

little house on the praire

My son ended up doing nothing for his 16th, he didn't want a party and didn't tell me what he wanted to do so I cooked his favourite tea and he didn't even have a friend round. I gave him presents and money and he ended up gobbing off to me so I took the money back

A kick up the backsides due! Although I love my kids I'm fed up with these moody midgets that can't seem to grasp basic Language skills.

Herts

Admittedly, I don't think I've EVER been excited about my birthdays...

I much preferred Christmas and Halloween.

"Just don't seem to be excited about their own birthday, my son is 15 today, got prezzies and cards, living room full of balloons and banners, "

Thinking back to when I was 15 that wouldn't excite me much.

15 year olds want to be out with their mates.

You're doing it wrong. At 15 I'd guess he'd be happy with access to internet pornography and some kleenex rather than balloons and banners. Fair enough, still give him a card and all that stuff.

Faith is restored. sorry!

Sent our 14 year old to their friends from Friday to Sunday morning and decorated and furnished their room, looks great with some great gadgets may I add. Barely got a thank you but definitely got the stare as if to say "about time too".

Now our room to do.

You did theirs, tell them you're off for the weekend and you want it decorated when you get back

Makes me realise how lucky I am with my 15 year old.

I've been on crutches for 5 months and when his friends call for him he just tells them 'I'll see how mom is and if she needs anything doing or some company. If she doesn't need me I'll be out'.

He says I've looked after him for 15 years so it's his turn to look after me.

Apart from the odd outburst of Xbox rage he's golden and I know I'm very lucky

Yeah I know he has, he's 15.

Don't worry he'll still be thinking "Dad Rocks!" in his head

Judging by some of my son's friends we're very lucky then.
