I say this because I find people are more giving and tolerant to friends than their sibling.

Very true! I've had some mental fights (one physical) with my sister, when younger. I'm the youngest so my brother's always quite protective.

There have been times when good friends have been there for me when siblings haven't. You don't expect as much of your friends as you do, family, so tend to be much more forgiving

my theory is that you can give you're friends more le-way because they will learn life for themselves, siblings you will be more protective and teach them right from wrong (if you mean kids) and want too keep them close

My friends are like siblings to me. I have friends I have known since before I started school. My other friend I have known for 20+ years. I don't have fair-weather friends, I have acquaintances I may talk to but I don't let them get close

I most definitely treat my siblings & friends differently. One of my siblings I don't talk to but both of them (both older) are so judgemental of us. I think they'd both bust a few veins if they knew we are swingers My friends don't know either right enough but at least I can talk freely to them about other things without fear of being judged.

I am more tolerant of my sisters irrational behaviour than I would be if a friend did the same. Family is family at the end of the day.

little house on the praire

My sister and I used to fight all the while when we where younger. I love her to bits but she is the most bossy person on this planet but in later years I just bite mg tongue and we get on, she's good hearted and I'm sure she doesn't realise she's doing it, but it does work us living in different countries

If a friend did half the things my younger sister does to me she would have been dropped years ago. With my sister I have to put up with things I wouldn't tolerate in a friend.

No I'm very close to my sister. And treat her the same but I don't live near her so we don't see each other often x

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

My sister is the best friend I could ever have. My close friends are as close as siblings.

I'm an only child & longed for siblings when I was younger. I've made very close friends & a wide social circle of friends & acquaintances. I do expect a lot from my closest three friends & excuse a lot.
