Would someone really light up a ciggy while shagging? Is that what people mean?

I don't know.. I don't meet people who make a big deal out of it. I'm always a considerate smoker even when I'm outdoors.

well even though I am not smoking now I will never ever become a anti smoker I know what it's like. I still sit in the smoke hut with the lads every now and then cx

Seriously it wouldn't bother me, I sometimes go for a couple of days without a fag when ma arthritis is playing up and I can't get to the shop. I don't crave one then so don't know why I don't just give up really

if the people that dont smoke and i do then i go outside for a cig even if thy say that you can smoke in the kitchen as i find it wrong to do so when they dont smoke themselves

Oh for sure. But I think that's what people mean by that, 'I'll meet you but don't even think of lighting up round me buster'. Normal polite people wouldn't dream of it anyway, but I bet you there's some that would on here.

When you don't smoke its really horrible kissing someone who does...even being around them or in their home you can get the smell on your clothes and in your hair, even when they smoke away from you in another room. I have met smokers but prefer not to as its a huge turn off for me personally

Yes that's a reason I avoided meeting smokers too, I have never felt tempted, but don't want to tempt fate. Being around vaping is slight concern too, there's a lot of novelty to all the flavours etc. But I know that nicotine is like alcohol, I will never be 'safe' to even have one puff, so I'm just never going to go there. I'm assuming there is no nicotine in exhaled vape but I might Google it. .....

We don't smoke in the house at all and wouldn't dream of doing it in someone elses house if they themselves didn't smoke - even if they said it was ok.

Other than popping a mint and washing hands afterwards, I'm not sure what a considerate smoker is

We used to smoke and met quite a few non smokers, we never smoked whilst playing or at their houses, not one of them complained and even had repeat meets. Now that we don't smoke we would still meet smokers

I think I may have used that term - I mean someone who would leave my house to smoke, not stand at my front door, and not throw the ends on the ground outside, and then wash their hands when they come inside, and either chew gum or use some mouthwash.

Well I am a very considerate smoker and wouldn't dream of smoking in a non smokers house. I was talking to a cpl once and they said they would love to meet me if I didn't smoke. Maybe if I ate mints and we used flavoured lube for oral they would.. Not saying exactly what my reply was but..

Its not like I smell like a used ashtray or taste like one was part of it.....

Slightly off topic, but the biggest row I have with my Mother is around her smoking in my house. She takes great offence at being asked to go outside and accuses me of a lack of respect.

It has virtually got to that point. Maybe it is a generational thing but she just won't accept it and as a result there is tension in our relationship. She will say things like "I will put water in the ashtray so there is no problem with the smoke" because someone told her 35 years ago that that worked. I've tried to point out the complete nonsense she speaks but unfortunately it is a real issue between us.
