"Yes ive got it but only on my elbows but its very itchy " I've found massively cutting sugar out of my diet cuts out the itch a bit. And tons of moisturiser. Mine is on my legs, badly, arms and now it's my torso in small patches. It's spread so much in a short time. I miss going out and wearing sexy/revealing clothing. Haven't gone out with bare legs in around 3 years now at least! ![]()

"Only on the back of my head.. try coconut oil as a moisturiser . " I tried this and weirdly my skin doesn't seem to like it? After two days use it seemed to get worse? I've tried it a couple of times now. Toshn, your poor mum. It's so painful when it covers you. ![]()

"seriously google 'pure potions' read the reviews, even GPs are prescribing it now in some circumstances, saved sooo many tears for my baby. Cant sing its praises enough " I had a look but it seems really expensive, I go through tons as I'm covered in it. I've spent a fortune chasing miracle cures over the years. Waiting to go on meds for it now.

Good luck though and hope your flare ups settle down x

You may want to try cutting carbs from your diet for a while and see what happens. Up the really good fats like ghee, lard, butter and olive oil and avoid vegetable oils, they are trans fats when heated and not good at all. Avoid all processed stuff too.

"I have it on my bum which I'm quite paranoid about. Vincent used to let meets know purely for MY peace of mind, as I couldn't stand the idea of any potential meets reacting badly when they saw it. It's not scaly, it's just red but it hasn't bothered anyone yet. I've found Palmers cocoa butter to be the best. Mine too clears up when I get some sun. ![]() It also completely disappeared when I was pregnant...

"Mine started after my first round of IVF. Never went away except once when I had UVB light treatment. I was clear six months and then bam, it was back. I've had it six years now. The first time I was covered so badly and I was a mess. All over my body and even a ridiculous amount in the palms of my hands. Hurt my legs just standing up. ![]() ![]() I don't have psoriasis but I have had bad eczema in the past and I have several other skin problems that flare up badly one or two weeks every month unless I am careful. Mine are more easily managed though. A low carb diet clears mine up almost completely. It's just a shame I've not managed to stick to a low carb diet long term so far! Saying you have my sympathies sounds patronising but I understand what you're going through. I can't offer any suggestions beyond persist with your doctor and dermatologist. I hope you find a resolution soon. Don't worry about what other people think. I know it's difficult, but tell them in advance and if they have a problem with it, think that those aren't the sort of people you want to meet. They've saved you the trouble of having to meet someone with so little empathy and understanding.

"Right. After this thread I'm feeling determined! It's not gonna win. I am going to quit sugary foods and alcohol again, do UV again, and drink five pints of water daily (I find this helps a bit) and... I'm going to try and use glycerine on my skin twice daily again. I did it for a few days on holiday and did see a difference but it was hard work to do consistently. But I'm going to stick to all of the above for ten days and if it has made a real difference I will stay with it. Very excited about the glycerin as I did see results after only a few days last time. More determined this time. And will use the promise of some meets to keep motivated! Wish me luck. If it works I will report back. ![]() Be sure to take time to relax regularly too. Do some breathing exercises and visualise your skin healing.

"One of the worst parts of having this condition is the itch, you can't help but want to scratch and when you do quite often you scratch so hard you start to bleed, well I do when I scratch and then you have people telling you not to do it, sometimes you just have to as it's the only thing that helps I have had this condition well over 10 years and now I'm not bothered really by people seeing it and asking things, I was quite ofter asked if I had been burned in a fire and would have to explain it was a skin condition and then go through the treatments I had tried or were trying, for a very long time I would hide it or apply so much cream or ointment my clothes would become stained, I even would cover my hands in lotions and wear cotton gloves to bed, but somehow every morning they would of worked their way off, it can and is very demoralising to ones self esteem, mine did seem to calm down last year but last few months my legs have flared up again, you can worry about it or you can let it be a part of you and try to live your life, I am trying to live mine with it, the lady asking the question she and I have talked privately about this and as far as meets go, guys and girls if you were to meet her and had a problem with her and the condition she and some of the posters on here suffer from then it's your problem, I would definitely not have a problem, she is a right fox ??" Aww thanks for saying that. ![]() ![]()
