Still have about 50 albums, used to have 200+. Ma dad set fire to our house in 1982 and not many survived

I do think there is more depth in the music when played on vinyl and listen to some of mine quite regularly.

George Thorogood - Live, Stevie Ray Vaughan - Texas Flood, AC/DC - Back In Black are just 3 of mine that still get played.

Yes ...soul records on original 45s...northern soul and motown and love the slight crackle as the needle hits the vinyl and watching the label go round and round !!

Used to have a lot of early 90's techno on vinyl.

Played on an old silver stacking technics system older than myself...turntable,tuner,tape deck and 100 watt amplifier through old wood panelled kappa achromat(think that was the name?)speakers....best sounding set up I ever had.

Of course my neighbours loved me

Don't have a vinyl turntable, but I do have a most excellent software vinyl simulator and virtual valve amp (izotope vst tools) Which are exceptional, and come pretty close to that warm sound.. check em out!

I'm a bit anal on this one I collect vinyl and love to play it ,,, and think most if not all sound better on vinyl and one in particular is crisis by Mike oldfield , you can just hear everything gong on , every sound and instrument

I love my vinyl ! I have more than 2,000 albums,and more than 3,000 7 inch singles. I have some go anywhere head phones. A range of about 100 metres. So i can use the mower and strimmer in the garden. And the album covers ate pieces of art! My favourites' are James Brown, The Doors and some great northern soul. Fantastic. Just listening to LA woman by the Doors. Forget the weather get the sounds on. Going to make it funky later!!

Jeff Wayne's War Of The Worlds was the first LP I owned....in 1979 at the age of six.

I still own it, and it plays practically like new. Looked after well

My record collection would pay for my funeral if I were to be run over by a bus.

still got tons of my old vinyl . yep and music sounds better you loose 3 quarters of the quality on mp3.

I find I cannot listen to the CD if I also own the album on vinyl. There's usually no comparison, there's a lot missing on the CD.

But I do look after my records, there should be no "pops and scratches" if they're in top condition.

Yes most albums are better on vinyl.

The album that stands out is Dark side of the moon.

Very few albums sound better on CD,those that do are mainly soul I think

Loads of vinyl.

Sound is far superior to CD.

My vinyls do not crackle and sound beautiful.

The only way to listen to the OJays Temptations etc...

I have just been listening to white snake live in the city as a digital download. Normally I would be listening to it on vinyl.

Anyway, I get to the track ain't no love in the heart of the city, , I'm singing along and I automatically cring when I get to the part I know has a little scratch on the record. Ready for the jump, it's not there, dos it's a digital copy..

Anyway my point, lol I missed it, the scratch is a part of the history of the song, I remember when I happened. Umm. How it happened.

And it not being there almost ruined the track.

I shot Ed Shearan 4 years ago when he was a struggling newcomer at a Salvation Army hall in Clacton, he done about 8 songs & was selling CD's that had been pressed for his gigs with songs not on his released albums...he is a nice guy & deserves his success .

I lent this album out yrs ago it was never returned gutted!! It's one of those chill do not disturb albums, as for vinyl, I have a bloody ton under my bed!! I need to give away. I'm a dope though I was given off an aunt a ton of old beatles 45,s on the Apple label. I tipped them

Got hundreds of records which get played on an Ariston Q-Deck. Most modern vinyl is pretty badly mastered/produced but good condition ones from the late sixties/seventies can sound amazing.

finding that the quality of mastering for vinyl is getting better again. At least for music in my preferred genres. The hyper compression applied to CD masters is not used for vinyl because they know they are selling to people who want to listen.

One audition of David Bowie's "The Next Day" on CD and vinyl is enough to tell the difference.

They all sound better! My collection is alive and well and being played by family and friends often. I bought my teenage daughter an album for Christmas and she loves it too and often plays my old albums. Her album ( fall out boy - save rock and roll) was an import from the states which turned out to be two blood red discs, which are strangely smaller than UK size albums but good all the same. The most played recently have been Beatles, INXS, Clapton and Trex seems very popular too

The wife has some music TV station. It's routed through a system with serious hi-fi credentials but of course it's hyper compressed, and sounds crap.

They just played Mark Ronson/Bruno Mars "Uptown Funk". Now we just bought the 45 of this for an upcoming party, and there is again no comparison. Even run through the same system the digital TV signal and the 45 are worlds apart. The vinyl is engaging, has real dynamics, the bass will rattle objects off the shelf. The digital TV output won't even shake the dust out of the reflex port of my speakers.

It's not universal but I've heard of vinyl releases from newer bands that were mastered from MP3s. WTF?!?!

I have heard it suggested. But I don't own any. Generally when an LP is mastered from digital its from 24 bit 96KHz or better.
