Rarely but a few events in the last week has kinda of got me thinking when is my bad luck going to run out but I genuinely try and keep a smile on my face and don't let the shit grind me down. If you are feeling that way OP it maybe a thought to go and speak with someone if you are feeling a bit

I think everyone does at some point it's the way we get ourselves out of feeling that way which dictates the outcome ?

I think we all do, depends if you mean not carry on with the day to day life or whether you mean don't carry on in a depressive way. If its the later seek medical help if its the former see what you can do to change things

Op spring summer is around the corner this time of the year after Xmas lots get very low .. Nothing is ever that bad and things they change with time its just hanging in there and staying positive and yes hard at times I know.. If things OP get so bad you need to let it out call Samaritans get things off your chest it could help and they are there 24/7 to help .. x

my only suggestion is talk to your doctor you've done the first step by admitting there is a problem

Not sure whether you mean this as it sounds but a friend of mine who had split from his wife just before xmas said a similar thing. He was seriously down (kids involved etc) and couldnt snap.out of his depressive state.

So being the good samaritan i bought him a newspaper. Told him to read about the news and what others are going through.

Always someone worse off

Whatever it is, it will pass. You didn't feel like this a while ago, and you will stop feeling like this again.

Get help sorting your problems not just feeling down, but get help with all the things getting you down too.

It's always worth carrying on.

You may not think it, or believe it - but it honestly is.

As others have said it's best to talk to someone - a friend, family or if that's too close to home - the Samaritans.

No problem gets better by ignoring it or bottling it up.

Good luck.

A

Thanks for the supportive posts and messages. Sadly it's been a long haul. Heavy depression, lasting for the past two to three years, with no sight in end. Wears you down. Matt

I got a weeks notice from work last week..but I have a trial period in another area...felt my world was caving in..but then thought I've been much lower in the past.life is life...and I can face it...distractions are always a welcome idea..if it makes you smile at least a bit.

Try to seek out more positive things.

Tell the negative it won't win.

Over and over.

It's exhausting but works.

Snap I have suffered periodically and very much so at the minute

I try to find ways of pulling myself out I watch silly comedy films and re-read a book again exercise and try to look more positively at things

I'm not religious but like quotes

"Long is the way and hard that out of hell leads to the light"

Chin up and take one day at a time

I know that feeling very well. Often wondered how much my life really means to me. I sometime struggle to find any positives so if its any consolation, you're not alone in that thought.

Also....bring yourself outside.

It washes some of the misery off.

Don't hide.

No horrible self talk.

Be Only kind to yourself.

Yes but realise that most problems can be overcome.

Everyone deals with it differently. Seek support and help if needed it is out there but don't throw in the towel.

It's harder to think positive sometimes, it shouldn't be that difficult but it makes it worthwhile when you do come through the other side.

Do more of the things you like doing when you get down, even if it's going for a walk, read a book (you get the idea ) but find an outlet.
