Yet another bus strike tomorrow and they never learn that they wont get more payed, they should be happy they got a job.. cos ther are plenty of other they can hire that want a job and can do the job better plus never moan and strike cos they appreciate the job, unlike these bus drivers, why don't they just fire them who go on strike, problem solved. I gues they get a one day holiday for it.

Plus I might not be able to go to the tomorrow cos of the strike lol

Garbage. If you have the right to strike you also have the right to not strike.

Substitute right and choice as you wish.

where the world takes me

The bus lines are all owned by different companies, this strike is a different one to the last.

I fully support anyone striking to get better pay since most of the time it's the shareholders and fat cats creaming off profit at the expense of the people actually doing the work.

At the expense of the customers.

There's a difference.

I'd happily pay more if i thought it was going to the people doing the work, sadly i know that it normally goes in the pocket of the shareholders and the workers still get paid badly.

Compared with Tube drivers, I think bus drivers have a much harder job with far worse pay, terms and conditions. That said, I don't really agree with the strike. It's totally wrong that people are feeling pushed into it rather than being able to freely choose for themselves.

First and foremost it is illegal to sack someone for going on strike unless it's an illegal walk out. Secondly it's not a holiday as they do not get paid for being on strike. And as for the reason of pay its because of people striking over pay is why the drivers who appreciate a good paid job!

People don't strike because they want to they strike because they feel it's the last resort!

The strike effects lots of people but that's the point of it really wouldn't have a effect if it didn't.

The issue usually is the bosses of the company refuse to talk to the unions causing the walk out. Sometimes I think it's so the accounts look good for money going out. It don't seem they worry about the fares coming in.

tube is always on strike and bus drivers pick up their passengers all the time but its expected of them they don't get paid today and im sure my hubby would rather be working than standing freezing his bollocks off on the picket line don't blame the drivers blame the managment

There are 18 bus companies and 33 different rates of pay. The staff are asking for standardised rates of pay and collective bargaining with all companies at the same time rather than 18 sets of negotiations with all the separate companies.

There will have been countless meetings and negotiations before any strike was called. That goes for any strike at any company. that's the way the law is
