"I think its going to be very close this year, England will be strong coming in a world cup year as they so often are, Ireland will push hard even without bod. I think Scotland will surprise a few people and snatch a victory at home to Wales and ruin their championship" Beat Italy maybe, not Wales

This is what makes me laugh about Scotland and Wales. They care more about beating England than where they finish.

"I know it's sacrilege but I think Iremand play better without BOD. I also think English fans are generous about wanting other teams to do well. I support two teams 1. Ireland 2. Anyone playing England " Its a case of flattery when people behave like that. It means England are so good you need others to beat us too

I questioned a Welsh guy, who was (and, I daresay, still is) vehemently anti English why that was so, given many English (myself included) had no strong feelings about the Celts. Seems it's to do with conquering their countries hundreds of years back! Personally not anything to do with modern English men and women, so such enmity is misplaced and ridiculous - if not xenophobic. Surely?

Personally not anything to do with modern English men and women, so such enmity is misplaced and ridiculous - if not xenophobic. Surely?" It's sensitive, many English people take the piss about how not every welsh person can speak the welsh language, I'm lucky I went to a welsh nursery, infants, juniors and secondary school so I'm fluent and so is my daughter but, the reason not everyone can speak welsh is because years and years and years ago when every Celt in Wales only spoke welsh king Edward thought it was witchcraft and forbid it, the prince of Wales Llewelyn ap Gwynedd (the last) rebelled against king Edward fought his soldiers, burnt his castles but while Llewelyn was away regrouping his army and down to around 3000 men england attacked again, Wales were massively outnumbered and put down their weapons only to be slaughtered anyway. Llewelyn hears about it and rushes back but it was a trap and he gets his head chopped off and brought back to england for his head to be paraded around. Alls fair in war and I suppose we don't really hold grudges dating back to the 12th century do we? But that's one of the reasons why Welsh never stayed as our first language, people were killed if they dared to speak it.

"I reckon one team will come out on top, the fans of that team will be all excited that some people they've never met did better at a game than some other people they've never met, all the other fans will be all dissapointed that the people they don't know didn't do as well as some other strangers, there will be a bit of celebrating, a bit of griping, and then nobody will care all that much once it's all done. Like most sports really " I actually went to school with Rhys Webb and Gavin Henson, had many dinners with James hook and lee Byrne in Toby carvery where we live, ryan jones was the 5th person to hold my child after she was born. We love our rugby players down here! They represent our country I think everyone should be supportive when your country is playing no matter what the sport.

I regularly see Phil Greening at my club and Ben Foden as his little brother plays for us.. We have another lad joined England u18's and I have met many an ex england/scotland/wales player and they are more than happy to drink and socialise with the fans of the game as they are unpretensious and enjoy a drink & laugh more than most! Rugby union has one of the closest knit networks I find and is always friendly

"I predict that one team will win and the other five will not. This just about covers my knowledge of this sport. (incidentally, which sport is this?)" 1974. The 5 nations championship (as it still was then) was shared; everyone came first and everyone came last. The beauty of rugby is that it's not entirely predictable
