But as I dislike hugs unless its from someone I trust... I'm weird and have contact issues for hugs...

Yeah they're better than hugs, my 5 year old uses them as an excuse to come back downstairs for 2 minutes, "I need a cwtch Mam I actually need one!" That's what she says!
