Im working away in lincolnshire...

Why do couples say they dont meet visitors..bear this in mind...

If i lived ten miles away in lincoln too i still would only see you at the meet.

Dont make sense to me saying cause not from lincoln they wont meet.

I know its their choice but is their logic right?

I would not like someone rocking up and expecting a meet at short notice just because they happen to be away from home for a couple of days.

Yes their logic is right for them. Why do you question what you say yourself is their choice?

If you've been chatting to someone and you've got to know them and then you get a chance to meet them because you travel to their area; great opportunity and totally different.

I guess for some it is linked with travelling salesmen playing away from home.

Some people like to get to know people, have socials etc which they feel they can't do if you are just passing through.

this exactly. Living by a seaside resort I get this a lot during the summer and it gets on my nerves. I'm not a tourist attraction! If you know you're going to be in an area then make an effort to get to know someone beforehand and not expect a last minute meet.

MAMOBA, miles and miles of bugger all (Aberdeenshire)

I don't meet people passing through with work - chances are they will want a midweek meet, which I do not do.

Or are playing away from home, again a big no.

And I prefer the chance of repeat play, and for that reason noone travelling through the area with work, and noone from outwith aberdeenshire.

Also, living in this area, we get a lot of north sea tigers looking for a shack up the night before going offshore and someone to empty them again when they get home - not my scene at all.

Norwich

Met a few fit lads visiting Norwich - one or two of them working offshore flying out out Norwich. Good fun to be had with those who, when away, like to play!

I would actively encourage such behaviour

It works for them. If they really like you, they woukd be gutted if it couldn't be a regular thing.

You are right it shouldn't mean that but some people tar everyone with the same brush. Nothing you can do about it except move on to the next profile.

but there is nothing you can do about it. Why regret things that you cannot change?

It's a fair point, op. Unless someone wants repeat meets, why should it matter if you're only in town for a short time. Maybe it's just a handy way of saying no thanks. Anyway, in our case we'd have no problem with the concept, but the chances of the right person, being in the right place, at the right time, are pretty remote.
