Brighton - even Hove!

I've found a profile which I have reported to admin as a great many words and phrases have been copied from my profile. I'm assuming that there will be dates and times associated with any wording updates so admin will be able to know if I'm right.

Why do people copy profile wording? Can't they understand that a profile is just words. If they can't think of their own words then they won't be able to engage in the to and fro conversation to get a meet because they lack imagination, lack confidence and are sad little losers.

And it's not even Thursday.

MAMOBA, miles and miles of bugger all (Aberdeenshire)

It becomes apparent really quickly if someone was not the talented wordsmith behind a profile when you chat, don't worry they not going to get meets with it.

I honestly don't get the point. I'm attracted to profiles that tell me a bit about the person who wrote them and it would be pretty obvious if they weren't that person once we started chatting. I do sometimes see some and think 'damn, that's a good way of putting something' but actually using it for myself seems as bad as using someone else's pictures. Does not compute.

I had the same mate. Taken word for word apart from the fabicide being married bit. He even blocked me so I couldn't see it!

Worst thing was he nearly got a meet off the back of it...

Also had people copy verifications I have left for others.

I suppose it says you write well and put things better than they ever could. They would be found out on a meet though if they are not as described / can't remember what they wrote / appear thick as fuck!

Some people just dont know how to word things properly due to dyslexia etc and are better at speaking in person!

What you write isnt copywrite protected so anyone can use it! Wouldnt it just have been better to ask them why they found the need to use it and im guessing they are on the forums if you have seen it so you really shouldnt be discussing an issue you have with another member

Your guess is incorrect. You're correct - profile wording isn't copywrite but I expect a modicum of originality and a basic salute to etiquette. I'm not discussing anything. I made a statement, then asked a question.

In my case I was blocked so discussion was not an option. I was informed by a lady who thought at first I was running two identical profiles in different postcodes. Maybe his likes, dislikes circumstances etc may be identical to mine, but even with dyslexia, other people cope.

If you go to all the effort of making a bacon sandwich, its a bummer if someone nicks it on you.

I know its on the internet so therefor fair game, doesn't make it right to take it.

Technically, profile narrative is copyright the moment you publish it.

In reality, there's fuck all you can do about misuse of it.

Maybe we need to paraphrase an 80's legendary motto :

"Stop profile copying, you're killing home swinging"

someone copied verbatim a paragraph from mine a few months ago...i wrote to mention this and she replied, saying that it was a bit that made sense that she liked...to be honest i didn't mind...

if it was something more personal then it would have been more annoying...

i think there are a lot who seem to join and cut and paste bits though...mainly 'i am a woman/man/couple and looking to meet couples, women and men' and seem to leave it at that!

Not just a bit of it, all of it : and there was plenty of it.

The bit that fucked me off was I typed the bastard thing and all they had to do was highlight, copy and paste

Still, at least it got the mind creative again til I found other ways to repulse members other than just sticking a face pic up

I don't think being dyslexic is any excuse for plagiarizing someone else's profile. If I, as diagnosed dyslexic, can write a reasonable profile with out stealing it from someone else then so can anyone else. Just some people just can't be arsed to put in the effort, then wonder why they don't succeed at what they do.

It shows when people have stolen parts of profiles. Things just don't fit when you have a conversation with them. It's a lazy way of drawing attention to themselves and makes them look foolish in the end
