I will comment on the second incident first. I have grown up in multi cultural society, have dated black girls. The word negro whilst is is shocking that it is used today was still common in the 1960s. This word i think is not only offensive but also completely outdated. Unfortunately some of the older generation think it is ok to still say it. Well I am sorry it is not ok.

Now on to the first incident...absolutely disgusting, this guy should be charged with inappropriate sexual interference....at no time or place did the girl say it was ok...it is bordering on rape. It is guys like this that give us genuine guys a bad name. Disgusting

Jeremy Jackson has been removed from the house for groping/assaulting Chloe Goodman.

Ken Morley has been warned he may be removed for sexist and racist comments including making jokes about "big fat negroes" which Alexander O'Neal informed him was not acceptable. Morely tried to say he thought black was an offensive term and that it was simply Spanish for black. O'Neal reminded him he wasn't Spanish, in thr following conversation Morely threw "pickaninny" into the mix.

Who's Jeremy Jackson . My gran is 97 and went in a shop asked for a niger brown skirt , I know it's offensive but with a lot off older people it's what there generation said . There was a older black man used to work at we're I work called us white people honkeys .

If the word "negro" and variants of it is so outdated and looked down upon then today's mainstream music artists such as nicki minaj and busta rhymes shouldn't be using it in their music.

Seems these racial slurs are unacceptable on tv but perfectly acceptable in music

He is the type of person to say "it's only a joke" and "I'm just trying to keep things lively" and the classic "no offence meant" whilst he's busy outraging, offending and upsetting the people around him. It's nasty and pernicious and a form of bullying if he's allowed to continue.

I don't know who anyone is! I don't even own a television,I'm so far above all this crap, I don't eat red meat either, I only read classic literature, and everything I touch is organic and ethically sourced.........

yet I will let you know that I think something is crap even though I've never watched it. That's just how important my opinion is........

No, not invited, just there when I looked at the forum.

I've commented because it's here. My comments relate to accounts of what happened. I'd have lost nothing by not seeing it and if the show were cancelled, even though I don't watch it, it would have a (very mild) positive effect on me.

Well my "putting the boot in" was about the guy, not the show.

At least until the suggestion that it's unreasonable for anyone who doesn't watch it to want it cancelled. Surely it makes complete sense that anyone wanting it cancelled wouldn't watch it!

I don't smoke but I'd still like to see it banned in all public places. Smoke invades my life, unwanted, and has a negative impact on me.

Big Brother may be less harmful but I would like to see it gone for the same reason.

I will comment on the second incident first. I have grown up in multi cultural society, have dated black girls. The word negro whilst is is shocking that it is used today was still common in the 1960s. This word i think is not only offensive but also completely outdated. Unfortunately some of the older generation think it is ok to still say it. Well I am sorry it is not ok.

You'll note that until the suggestion that as I don't watch it I am not allowed to have an opinion on it, I hadn't commented on the show at all.

My comments were on who one of the "celebrities" is and on his behaviour.

It was the suggestion that I shouldn't have an opinion that lead me to mention my opinion and why I have it.

Accusing me of "putting the boot in" was a bit heavy-handed given what I'd said to that point so it drew further comment.

I had to look it because so many people take offence on behalf of others these days. The word Negro is a legitimate term though outdated and has dropped out of mainstream use. It is also Spanish for black, does that make Spanish speakers racist... I don't think so.

But he's not Spanish.

And it was used in the context of a racist joke. It wasn't used in general conversation by someone who doesn't know that it's not acceptable.

Ken Morley is someone who, due to his job, should be aware that many of the comments he is coming out with are offensive and unacceptable. This is not political correctness this is simply being unpleasant to people. There were more comments than the negro one.

He is the type of person to say "it's only a joke" and "I'm just trying to keep things lively" and the classic "no offence meant" whilst he's busy outraging, offending and upsetting the people around him. It's nasty and pernicious and a form of bullying if he's allowed to continue."

There are many television shows and news items that I personally don't find newsworthy. Any talk about football doesn't interest me in the slightest, I hate the world cup, millions would disagree with me.

However this show still generates discussion, though its obviously not cool to admit to liking it.

The concept was interesting, seeing how people interact with each other whilst being cooped up together, it was an interesting psychological experiment. Celebrity Big brother even more so because we got to see the desperation that comes with the desire to be adored.

As with everything repetitian spoils it somewhat and for that reason I think it should be laid to rest, not for the antics and arguments that go on because in life offensive behaviour and attitudes are around us instantly

the equivalent of some folks outrage on here would be to open someone else's chosen type of restaurants door and tell the diners what they think of their choice..

and by that time ones own booking may be given to someone else..
