Having just viewed the most recent Panti Bliss clip linked on FB, I can honestly say I am in awe of the guy.

Whether you are on board with his thoughts is one thing, but he gets his points across so beautifully, I am just sucked in every time.

I am a very poor public speaker. Fine in groups but put me on a podium and my head wobbles off.

Are you a great speaker ?

I have always enjoyed listening to Stephen fry. His speech in the debate on the Catholic Church was superb both in content and delivery.

For me though, the best I have heard is Tony Benn. He could talk for ages and make it seem like seconds. He is the only person to read Shakespeare and made me want to listen!

AJP Taylor, the History professor, recorded a whole series of programmes for television, back in the 1960's I think, without notes and filmed each programme in one take. Awesome!

Tony Benn, been fortunate to listen to him a couple of times..

have done so to an audience of several hundred like minded folk, the walk to do so was more nerve wracking than anything else..

The thought of public speaking turns my insides upside down & I feel physically sick so I was really chuffed recently when it mattered most I managed to do it

I was lucky enough to attend a function where Sir Bob Geldorf was the guest speaker and whether it was in the moment of actually being there I'm not sure but he was calm, collected & passionate on his delivery and made an awful lot of sense too.

He is great, I've heard him and Dennis Skinner and Scargil speak and they are all great.

met Skinner and Anne Scargil, she was very good too..

It's a large part of my work so I don't really get nervous, just that little tickle of apprehension that keeps it fresh.

I've heard Tony Benn several times too.

Clive Stafford Smith is a great speaker.

I've always thought Tony Benn was probably one of the best speakers of the 20th century. Beautifully clear and well carrying voice with such reasonably sounding delivery.

Always liked his often used phrase 'it's the policies not the person that matters'

Just a shame I could never find myself agreeing with much of what he actually said. But still, great speaker.
