Have just fitted a security box on the outside of my house with a spare key , so will never need to worry about being locked out again ( unless I forget the code

)

. I did think that but how many burglars would want to spend time working out how to pull the box off the wall , and then work out a way of opening it. As my houses are in safe areas , I have never worried about being burgled .

Put a car jack and piece of scaffolding pole under it, you can get them off in no time I'd think. Works on phone boxes....

If you have a lifeline or carers coming in these boxes are fitted to your house. A burglar would draw a lot of attention to themselves and need a lot of equipment to get one of them off the wall. Much easier to just prise a window open.

Blimey! Are there. I didn't know that. I have a couple of elderly relatives with these fitted for carers and emergency services to gain access. That really is extremely concerning.

I just leave my key in the door. I don't have to carry it around and can't lose it.

Keysafe is the name i think & we've been using them for our elderly/sick people in the community for years.

Very good idea if you ask me.

I'd be tempted to unscrew the door and carry that with me, just in case burglars find the key

My neighbour has mine.. I have theirs. They do lock themselves out but there are 3 of them.

Thankfully thus far I never leave the house without my keys.

I went out of the house yesterday and went to the car. I thought I had my keys but realised they must have dropped from my coat, so retraced my steps. Then I saw my dog, at the window, with my keys hanging from his mouth.

Pickpocketed.

The bastard!

We've given spare keys to a couple of neighbours and vice versa...handy for when you run out of booze and they're not in, too!

Key safes are secure

but keep all the buttons clean as most only need the right four numbers not necessarily in any order !

So that's what happened to the case of wine and bottles of spirits that went missing at Xmas, and I thought It was me overdoing it.

Must remember that when neighbours go on holiday.

I use them a lot through work they are mainly used to allow access to ill and elderly people's houses for, nurses, cares etc you realise now everyone who walks by you house and sees it will think there's a OAP living there

. Hopefully it is not too visible from the road. I attached it to a fencing post at the side of the house
