Kent

Seems like only yesterday my tiny 7lb 3 baby boy was born. Now he's 4 in a few weeks and I've just filled in his school application forms for September.

Went to look round one school today and decided that's the one we want to go for as first choice. Kept getting a bit choked up walking round.

I hope he likes it there. It's a big decision to make coz he's gonna be there 6 years!! Eek!!

When callum started school I walked round like a zombie for the first week. Its an exciting time for them. My son was an only child as well and its great for them to interact on a daily basis with their peers

He already goes 4 half days to nursery but going to big school seems like it's such a big deal. Plus he'll be leaving all his buddies the ones he's closest to are going to the smaller village schools as they have siblings already there x

erm they havent changed the years as of yet, well i dont think so as i believe its still 16 then no school unless they do further education

only 2 1/2 years left for my last child to leave school

1 of them leaves school this year

then its up to them what they want to do but i will encourage them to do further education and a chance to do so

we moved back here when callum started school so he didn't know anyone from nursery but they soon settle in. Its worse for us than it is them lol

Children are always more resilient than we think. He will soon settle in wherever he goes and make new friends. Then it seems like five minutes before they're in juniors and secondary school flies by.

I guess that's why she said 17/18 IF she wants to do further education

Make the most of him everyday. I remember my kids first days at school so clearly.

My eldest daughter is nearly 23 (I was a divorced single parent by that age)

My step son is nearly 27!

God I feel old now

I remember my sons 1st day at primary school like it was yesterday, he looked so little in his grey shorts & jumper, awww

Wait till you start looking around senior schools, it's scary how quickly it goes!

And before you know it they're taking their GCSE's...

Hope they're new ones - or at least have been washed!

I obviously had the cheap knock off market stall ones as mine were 'ninja' turtles!
