OP imagine receiving hi/hey/how's u/how's your day/how's your weekend going and other similar variations 10-50 times a day. Gets boring, shows no imagination and no effort. Life really is too short! | |||

Last time my friend showed me her received messages there were 32 that day and 29 were ones she had no interest in from random guys. Would you send 29 "no thanks" messages?! At the very least that's a lot of cutting and pasting. I think the answer is pretty clear. | |||

The fact is that there are many more women than men on fab so their experience is very different. We only reply to a "hi" message if we are interested because it becomes more difficult to turn someone down later on and they ask, quite reasonably, why.we talked to them if we weren't interested. I would say that if you don't expect a response you will enjoy your time here in a much more relaxed way.

Being polite is a choice and some people choose to be more polite than others. Remember that it is not polite to ignore the requirements of the profiles you write to. It is rare for anyone to respond to discourtesy with courtesy. | |||
