just read in the telegraph that a scottish labour mp is proposing to use taxes raised directly on people here in england to fund more nurses for the scottish health service , this cant be right , i thought health north of the border was devolved away from england , if they want more nurses in scotland then they should be taxing the hell out of themselves instead of scooping up cash from yet more taxes raised on us here in england

Titz Towers, North Notts

Considering your posts in the Scottish Oil thread, I'm seeing a trend in your posts, OP.

Nicola Sturgeon is touring Perthshire in the First Minister’s chauffeur driven car.

Suddenly a cow jumps out into the road. They hit it full on and the car comes to a stop.

Nicola in her usual jaunty manner, says to the chauffeur : " You get out and check - you were driving."

The chauffeur gets out, checks and reports that the animal is dead.

" You were driving, go and tell the farmer," says Nicola, ”I can’t afford to be blamed for anything.”

The chauffeur walks up the drive to the farmhouse and returns five hours later totally plastered, his hair ruffled and with a big grin on his face.

" My God, what happened to you ?" asks Nicola.

The chauffeur replies : " When I got there, the farmer opened his best bottle of malt whisky, the wife gave me a slap - up meal and the daughter made love to me."

" What on earth did you say?" asks Nicola.

" I knocked on the door and when it was answered, I said to them, I'm Nicola Sturgeon’s chauffeur and I've just killed the cow

Does it really matter?

They don't spend the tax payers money on anything they promise. Why is this such a surprise?

We already pay for their free prescriptions, so why not a few nurses. Maybe we can employ them all from eastern europe and pay for their familes to stay at home as well

Oh we already do !

Great, another Scots bashing post.

That's what happens when you have a union of 4 countries, where 3 of those countries have their own devolved parliaments, and the other has to make do with the parliament designed for all 4.

Maybe if England had it's own parliament as well (Westminster doesn't count) there wouldn't be so much distrust and hostility between us.

An English parliament wouldn't stop the Nats moaning about everything and anything.

That's excellent. I am going to adapt it for Teresa Viliars (Secretary of state for Northern Ireland)

Thanks

Depends how rthey do it. Theyll get an agency in who charge the earth rather than employ them directly. Also i was appauled years ago when phillipino nurses were recruited because they were badly needed back in their own country.

Not Wallace but the Bruce.

"THOMAS Yeudal used a replica of the Bannockburn victor's skull to study Bruce's bone structure and create a fearsome portrait."

That just made me chuckle

Anyone else think Nicky Sturgeon looks like Jimmy Krankie.... and Rab C Nesbitts wife!

That would be the least of your worries if Labour got in.

The money to raise it like a lot of Labour's spending is to come from the mansion tax that it seems will pay for every Labour policy

The NHS in Scotland is run by the Scottish parliament and is, like the Welsh run Labour effort, totally unable to cope.

Wouldn't worry, jim murphy probably wont have a seat, let alone have any power in scotland.

He is only mouthing off about this to pretend he is a big man, and try to win a vote or two.

As muppet who wrote this is probably aware, scotland i a net contributer, not a drain. (it is in the figures westminster uses)

If you really want something to be worried about i heard today that a tory mp went on record saying they wouldn't rule out a coalition with Labour in westminster.

Have fun with that.

I don't see you complaining about the taxes from Scottish people that gets used in the NSH south of the border....

So quit your winging now

That's a million miles away from a Labour MP saying they wouldn't rule out a coalition with the Tories in Westminster.

That's 100% a non starter.

They don't complain about oil revenue, renewable energy, whisky revenue or tourism either. That's the benefit of a union. We all contribute and we all draw from the benefits.
