According to news reports, Pauline Cafferkey has 'stabilised' although she remains in a critical condition.

Hoping that she recovers

As has been mentioned on the related 'Ebola' thread, Pauline Cafferkey is no longer in a critical condition.

This is excellent news and I'm sure her family are ecstatic, though she is far from being completely out of the woods yet, she is certainly on the road to recovery.

I wonder why it keeps returning.

is this also happening to all the other patients who have had it, and have survived.

Yeah it probably is happening to other people as well.

Viruses never actually go away, your immune system just keeps them in check for you usually.

This is why warts & veruccas keep coming back, your body loses the ability to keep the virus under control for a while.

No: not all ; it's unusual;

but it can happen; usually, though, survivors of virus infections have become self-immunised;

Perhaps the immunisation " mechanism" didn't work in her case?
