I'm scared to say this after an earlier thread but I haven't seen it. Can you give a brief resume?

Start with a montage of the old guys life with his wife, Boy meets girl, they grow up, get married, can't have kids, get old, girl dies, boy decides to head off on an adventure. Brilliantly done and a real tug on the heartstrings.

It's one of my fave films, beautifully made with a great storyline.

I cry everytime I see it.

Do you mind if I go off at a slight tangent?

I watched Esio Trot last night and loved it

The part where the boy is outside the door while the house is flying makes me feel ill. I get teary-eyed at the beginning too

Couldn't go wrong with Dustin Hoffman and Judy Dench. Roald Dahl was always a favourite of mine - especially Danny the Champion of the World.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Those first 10 minutes are so beautiful, poignant and make me cry every time I see them.

Then I cry again at the end when he pins the Elli badge on.

I've recorded Esio Trot for when I need a gentle love story.

I love that film and the start of it is beautiful. It nearly made me cry and I virtually never cry during films.

Up is one of my favourite films. I love the dog too.

A ball! A ball! Oh yes, oh yes, I do very, very want the ball! (or words to that effect - I can't remember the exact quote)
