Lets see how much free speech we get on this subject in our supposedly free n democratic country...He's been accused of forcing a minor to have underage sex with him in the USA in a lawsuit which naturally has been denied by the Palace....Hopefully the Yanks will get to the bottom of these sordid tales a dam sight quicker than our Scum filled Establishment???

Vexatious litigation is a big problem in the USA especially if the defendant has deep pockets.

Personally I would say that this is a bullshit claim that will gain publicity for claimant and cost Prince Andrew to defend.

Just been on sky news ant once again the first post (not saying same OP again). Has misheard or heard a wrong quote.

He has been named as an associate of someone else (a known offender) in a lawsuit. It was already known that he had had meetings with the man in question prior to learning of hopes background.

Another example of someone trying to make headlines out of nothing?

Loads of people met Jimmy Saville in his charity work....doesn't make them all guilty does it.

Let's just wait until the whole story comes out...as there likely isn't one!

he can't... statute of limitation on a state case in florida is i think 5 years......

this is an allegation in civil case against a certain person who was jailed for 18 months back in 2008 for admitting having sex with "minors" (age of consent in florida is 18....... she was 17 at the time)

Scum filled establishment? I have a great deal more faith in our system than Americas. There are so many people who make a living by making nuisance lawsuits and are protected by the law. I'll wait and hear the facts before I presume

Well said. Innocent til proven guilty. This woman is involved in a civil case not a criminal case and it is not against prince Andrew he was just named in documents. I'm sorry but if I was abused I would be more interested in getting a criminal conviction against my attacker than financial compensation. I hope the courts get it right whatever the truth is.

As we all know a lot of people covered up Savilles vile behavior for generations then said hey we heard about that anyway after he died n escaped punishment....People made complaints about him when these things happened but people at the top chose to cover them up for some strange reason....I wonder why???

I don't know why people covered for J Savile but cover ups still go on I bet. However because it happened in one case doesn't mean it has in another it's important that it's investigated properly though.

The peadophile cases that have come to light recently in northern cities proves that things can be covered up for a long time before anything makes it to the papers let alone trial

You said in your original post that he has been accused of having sex with an underage girl. That sounded as if he is being charged, which is factually incorrect. The claim has been made as part of a lawsuit against his associate. I hope it isn't true.....But yes it could be. Who knows. If the claim leads to a case against him then hopefully justice will be done. Just because he's royalty of course doesn't mean he shouldn't answer for any wrong doing. Equally, just because he's royalty that doesn't mean it isn't absolutely awful to be falsely accused of something so terrible by someone.

Not true, though their system is different, it is based on ours and still based on the concept of inocent untill proven guilty. The problem is that they suffer, rather badly in fact, from trial by media - which can result in the accused being tainted as guilty by the midua before the opening stages of the trial.

What happened to innocent until proven guilty and once again the accused is named but the accuser isn't . This is the case all the time !!!! Pisses me off . So whatever happens he will have a black mark over his name just like others that were found to be innocent and ruined there careers/ life .

for someone who is prepared to make such promises you must have evidence abound. The truth however or whatever it is will out and those who know and can prove it should be precise and deliberate in their presentation of it. So I suggest that instead of empty promises you stand up be a man and present your case not just here but in every public forum. Remembering that only the innocent are free from reprimand .

see.... the problem is that because the claim was made in court papers.... which means "at the moment" she is protected from any defermation charges.... and at this point cant be challenged legally

if they wanted to really put the pressure on this person.... he could wave his rights to the statue of limitations and having this out in court.... because knowingly filing a false charge is against the law

or challenge them to repeat the allegations outside of the court papers and he can go after them for defermation

the problem for them is she claims she has sex with andrew in LA, London and the British Virgin Islands... in the UK and BVI the age of consent is 16... its only in Florida and California where it is 18

because it is a civil case they are going after money from epstein

There's always exceptions of course but I'd rather not presume whether they are innocent or guilty, just leads to 'I told you so / I knew it' scenarios. So I like the 'we'll see' approach.

As I understand it she was a minor in the states. She was 17 at the time and whilst some people may find that age gap distasteful it is not illegal in this country and is not pedophilia.

What is relevant is whether she was coerced, paid to have sex with Andy and whether he knew or not. Of course the other question is did he have sex with someone under 16?

He is not accused of forcing anyone, the woman claims she was forced to by another woman, Robert Maxwell (darling of the left, once) daughter, to do anything he wanted... on 3 separate occasions... Once would be enough for many, and move away but apparently not.

So far it is merely accusations.

This may have been said already (can't be arsed to trawl through) but in Florida a minor is someone under 18. In the UK the legal age for consent to sexual activity is 16, so maybe not so horrific as first thought?
