Boudoir photo shoot

MAMOBA, miles and miles of bugger all (Aberdeenshire)

I am doing a boudoir photo shoot in a few days time... Looking for some suggestions for what to wear.

I have a massive collection of corsets, underwear etc... but suggestions welcome.

Oh I am also really considering the American Beauty type shot too!

A few tips. Be carefull what you wear in the hours before the shoot ... loose clothing and even no bra is best, avoids leaving marks and creases on the skin. Even during the shoot, avoid overly tight clothing for the same reason unless the photographer is good with photoshop. As for what to wear? ... Anything you find and feel sexy in, the way you feel will come over in the picture, it may look good but if you don't feel sexy on it ... You'll see that on the image x

Thanks folks.

Photographer did say about no bra before going in, but he's a dab hand with photoshop, have seen loads of his work. He's also said we'll start at the wherever I am comfortable, but that its best to go nudes first if I want them taken.

Hahaha Mary Poppins? Moi?

What sort of look are you going for?

Retro? Glam! Take at least 5 outfits with you, relax and enjoy

If you're going retro, never underestimate how cute rollers or a simple flower in the hair can look. And props are dead useful, especially if you're a bit self-conscious (you may not be but I know I am and having something to play with helps).

Many photographers who offer a boudoir shoot have clothes, make up and hairstyling included.

Outfitwise a silk shawl draped "tastefully" would look classy and sexy (would imagine he might have something similar). Enjoy the shoot! x

Oooh I would love to do a boudoir photo shoot! Haven't had the confidence before but since being on here, I have become somewhat of an exhibitionist

I had a photoshoot as a present and I didn't have to take anything, tho I did wear my own dress as I have many of these styles. I decided on a hairdryer shot but they did the hair and make up.

Maybe a glamour shot with a satin piece of material draped across your shoulders, or a scarf around the neck and a skater style dress. Depending what your hair is like you could pin curl it

I think I am going with a retro 50s style shoot, vintage undies, stockings etc.

They do have props, but advise to take your own clothing - but have some corsets, although I will take my own as I know the fit of them perfectly.

Think my dress will be my 50s style one, but also have some lovely underwear and amazing heels - really excited.

Cannot wait to see the photos, and see if I can learn to appreciate my figure a bit more - this is my weight loss reward for losing 17 stone, going from a size 24/26 down to a 10/12 now.

Wow thats an amazing achievement and something to be very proud of, I don't think I could wear clothes that others may have worn, and as you said, you know that your clothes are going to fit you. I hope your going to put a few of your pictures on here?

Well done for the weight loss that's a fabulous thing to celebrate. I had a boudoir shoot a few years back, very liberating and a lot of fun, enjoy xx

First of all, WOW! Thats incredible stuff, well done you!

I'll send you some pics we have on here of the hot boudoir shoot J did last year. I got it for her because I wanted her to feel amazing about herself and it was something she's always wanted to do.

Hoe you have an amazing time and well done again on the weight loss!

Plenty of advice on what you should wear and it's all good in my opinion.. To add something from another dimension, ask for some shots to be done in black and white as they do create for a different atmosphere and please if you can afford it, have a few images printed and framed or at least put into an album as you'll look at them far more often than if you have them on a disk.

And if there's one shot that you particularly fall in love with, have it printed it on canvas - well worth it, trust me!

Just wanted to say thank you all for the hints and tips.

Did it today and had an absolute blast! Loved it, cannot wait for next friday when I get to see my pictures.

Photographer was absolutely great, and got way more shots than I thought - and he did say he'd done extra time as a reward for the weight loss as I'd showed him the before pics!

Was less Betty Paige and more just having fun, pretty undies set, tux shirt and bow tie, then corset and knickers, black set with thigh boots, and then black shorts and bra, and then nuddy! Loved it! Super glam make up and pretty curls.
