Stoke area

Being a carer is tiring and stressful. Glad the local carers group offer me good support. Don't struggle alone, get help and advice from your local carers association.

An extremely draining time which goes from days to weeks to months to years. I had my moments where I myself thought i couldn't cope. I ended up living day by day for years.. Now as a single parent I'm learning how to live again.. After so many years it's hard in itself adjusting.

I cared for my mum until April this year when she died....I now look out for my dad.

I feel so lost some days now as my life was my mum for over a year.....hence why I do volunteer work xx

Good advice to get help, otherwise you slip under the radar. In the end without someone to talk to you can end up slightly vulnerable yourself.

Mostly in GU24

I've been caring for an autistic son who also has ADHD, opposition defiance disorder since he was born. He's 15 now and I almost cracked a few weeks ago, ended up being sectioned. I'm better now but the toll that his behaviour puts on the family is immense. I so need fab; it's the only way I can be me.

Spent time over ten years caring for my mum who had dementia. ...very hard work at times....practically and mentally. Love her and now miss her dearly. A tough job...even when you love the person. Doing so was also one nail in my marriage coffin....but if you care and love....its a.must....what is life if not family....tho it helped break the one I made....and that is very sad for me to take....

Feel for you. it's a long time to carry the weight of organising everything that others take for granted.

Really hope you get the support you need. it sounds intense.

Similar to me about needing a release with this place. Good luck and hugs. You're a saint.

You shouldn't have guilt. You done what others wouldn't.. you stood firm. Be proud of yourself.

We're just about to be assessed by social services to see what help we could get. I'm hopeful but a bit anxious.

My fab adventures really do take my mind off home.
