I think it might be because we're only getting one side of the story. There was probably nothing more constructive to be said and with people suggesting that they could know who the woman was it was probably seen to be getting rather unfair.

I think the thread had run it's course and as said, it was kinda one sided, so I think no harm was done by closing it and no there weren't really any benefits to keeping it open.

presume : ok this is just one side of a story and it is another member you are talking about.

I would report the person involved incase there has been a pattern of the same thing.

Is what's being referanced here. Ok box time!

1-Not named & won't

2-wouldn't expect public airing when won't even reply to me!

3-not reporting as I don't know her side either

4-yes it's my side only but to be fair Im saying it as it is & I know it's my word - I value honesty & don't like the implied bias

5-I understand the constructive banter may be at an end but isn't a chat forum exactly that - a chat forum NOT an analysis & review page.

6-personally I have gainned a bit of support & understanding from what members have said privately & openly. If someone else can benifit from my mistake great

if a moderator closes a forum maybe they should have a facility to anonymously mail the OP or offender the reason!

Goes back to manners & knowing why someone acts that way!!!

Got to be honest here and I'm not taking anybodys side, but I have seen similar 'one sided' threads which have run a lot longer than this one was allowed to do ..

I think sometimes it depends uopn who poats the thread .....

As I said in my post, which you quoted, the answer was already given why the thread was closed so there was and is no need for you to get a mail from anyone to give you the same reason again!

That was my impression from the original post.

The OP does appear desperate and needy: not the type of person you want to encounter swinging.

Whilst I did feel a small grain of sympathy with the original post, I don't with this whine feast: very unattractive indeed.

Draw a line, let it go and move on before you put others of meeting you!

Ok fair enough, a small distinction. My point is still valid though - they are here operating under some guidelines and rules and we must obey those rules. regardless of our views as to the fairness of them.

is it not possible for an op to delete their own thread? someone may have had a situation explained to them or may have asked (in their mind) a honest question only to be ridiculed or insulted.

i'm not talking about this thread as we think he went on too long about it,but if the mod can end a thread why can't the op?

They can report their own thread and ask for it to be removed, then it is up to Admin or a Mod to remove it if they see a valid reason for doing so.
