Hahaha not what you think.

So been looking at new telly box and there is a confusing amount of info and variations.

Just when I thought I had read up and decided along comes 4k ultra hd

All we want is a decent quality set that is reliable, easy to use and most of all, a picture that does not go so dark we can't see shit every time we watch a film via dvd or on demand.

Currently looking at a Panasonic viera.

We don't want anything bigger than 40" tho

Essex.

A couple of people at work rave about their Samsung smart tv...

Samsung make nearly all the screens and sell them to everyone else to build their tv round...

All I want is a telly that turns on and shows a moving picture, when you press a button with a number on it a different moving picture comes on, Donna is the technophobe in our house, we have a Samsung Smart telly that does marvellous things when Donna has the control, even uses her phone to make it do wondrous things, I sadly have no clue how to make it do these wondrous and marvellous things

I bought a new tv a couple of weeks ago from Argos. It's a Bush with a dvd player, nothing fancy. Took 5 minutes to get out the box and set up and works great. All I wanted was one for my bedroom that was simple to use and I'm really pleased with it.

ask yourself where is the ultra hd signal coming from? do you need to be future proof this far ahead of the new tech?

We still have a toshiba 32" flat screen CRT in the living room, the back of this thing is huge! Not replacing it till it pops though...... Now I just know I've jinx it.

I wouldn't bother with 4k as it's not being broadcast in this country as far as I'm aware, mate of mine showed my a move in HD, seriously couldn't really tell the difference from normal TV.

we threw our tv out (it was getting old anyway) and we haven't bothered getting another. pretty much all tv that we want to watch is online now anyway and the laptop is a good HD media type of thing. we don't bother with live broadcasts, just watch the odd thing on catch-up as and when we want to. the bonus is that we don't have the expense of paying a licence fee or any kind of subscription. we've considered having a movie subsrcription but haven't bothered as yet as there's tons of free stuff on the internet. we've considered getting a projector but still in no hurry as we quite enjoy being free of the "one eyed monster" in the corner of the room.

Titz Towers, North Notts

Pops in, ready to do a long rambling post about the Byzantine Thematic System as originated under Constans in order to show that TV's confuse everyone only to just shrug her shoulders in a vaguely Gallic way, murmur 'Merde' and something about perfidious Albion and then vanishes to another thread.

That is a guy in heels, panties, stockings and suspender belt; 40 years old and, well, the last bit is self-explantory. Ultra hard c**k
