"Sex usually cheers people upTo be honest most people who are feeling low would rather just have a cuddle than sex." I'm still feeling rough, 9 people here later in total, I know there will be a bit of a bad vibe and yes a long cuddle would do the trick

"Big hugs to all those feeling down. I was feeling like that but last night I saw the real spirit of Christmas and we took food packages and scarfs and socks out to the homeless, it was really humbling how greatfull they were and how nobody was greedy they only took what they needed, one man refused a scarf from us as he already had one and someone else may need it more. That's the true spirit of Christmas xx" Good for you, helping homeless people in our own country.

"Xmas followed the same format this year as it always does. My brother with his family failed to get a card, let alone any present to me. The card will probably turn up in April; any present will be in the form of an Amazon Gift Voucher, since he cannot be bothered to pick up a phone and call me (as phones cost too much! his words, not mine) to find out what I would like? Last Xmas, my present was a £5 gift voucher which arrived in June. This despite he and his wife having a collective salary of 10 times what I earn. This despite me scrimping a little each month, so that I can send him, his wife and son a present and card each, in time for Xmas, but do I get a Thank You from any of them? What do you think??? Each year, it is the same; he still has his affluent lifestyle yet ignores his nearest and dearest. I thought I'd have become used to it by now, but it still hurts! Rant over!" Why do you bother to get him one though. just forget about him and concentrate on the people who matter.

"I'm a little low today as I lost a dear friend suddenly on the 23rd, 1 who was instrumental to my swinging career and to realising it's Ok to be different. But I'm at work and responsible for public safety and the Christmas cheer of 25 people who need help more than I do. So smile plastered on and away I go." I'm sorry for your loss. Big cwtch (((*))) x

I'm afraid that I would have given him a miss by now. I'm an only child BUT I did have a few very close friends who treated me badly and I just stopped communicating. My life is much less hassle without them to be honest.

"That sounds all too familiar Genguy. Sometimes the inaction of family manage to cause far more hurt than I think they realise. Mine even manage to moan about gifts, given in good faith, on social media when they've made no effort at all." I think if they just send a nice card because its not how much it costs its to show they are thinking of you, I would never complain about a preasant though, its because people are so used to getting everything they want, they don't appreciate things so much.

Mine even manage to moan about gifts, given in good faith, on social media when they've made no effort at all." I had aunts, uncles and cousins who did the same after I used to skint myself out buying for them. Plus I'd put thought and planning into theirs while my kids and I would receive gift vouchers Two years ago I gave them plenty of notice that I wasn't prepared to do it anymore as I couldnt afford it and suggested that we stopped exchanging presents. Less stress all round, I'd rather spend my hard earned cash on people who appreciate it

"I bought a new xmas tree spent a lot of money on decorating it, all my son does is moan that its too big and what a waste of money, don't know why I bother. bet u feel like taken his presants back to shop ! I only give him money this year. " I stopped celebrating Christmas. Prepared my family over three seasons and then I did it. Never looked back. The main reason was the consumerism, it's absolut madness with the presents. I stopped being able to see any rational reason for celebrating Christmas at all!

"It gets even better, I'm meant to be phoning my dad who's staying with my sister only to find she has changed her phone number without telling me and as always dad doesn't have his mobile turned on. No doubt my not calling will still be put down as my fault though. " My mother does this with her mobile too. Only turns it on to call someone then turns it straight back off. Send him a text then he'll see it when he switches his phone on

Daughter cooking breakfast for her and her boyfriend, Ben looking for a lost slat: don't ask...a normal day for everyone, yet I'm on the verge of tears and couldn't begin to say why!
