Glenrothes

My hot water tank burst one Christmas just as I was about to serve dinner. Full tank of boiling water cascaded down the kitchen and livingroom wall!!!! No power, no heating and no water. There is a God though, cos a local plumber came to my rescue and even left his own Christmas dinner to sort things.

"not the best time for the boiler to fail - "

I'm pretty sure you'll find someone to keep you warm until you get it fixed

More seriously, hope you'll manage to get it sorted asap

. Do you have a service contract on it and is it regularly serviced ? I thought that if a thermocouple failed , it would not relight . Hope you get it sorted shortly .

I'd take a bet you need a new thermocouple

was my first thought - i have looked at bits and there were two copper connectors at the top with some white corroded stuff - wiped that off and seems to be working better - think it might have been shorting itself - my blonde logic after had similar stuff on car battery and kept draining its power - we shall see - boiler currently on
