i know its christmas. but?

I live in a small cul de sac and get on very well with all my neighbours bar one couple. They have caused me so much grief this year.

Today they put a Christmas card through my door and I'm not sure what to do. My options are

Send them one back being as its Christmas

Ignore it and not bother

Or. Post theirs back

What would you do?

They have always been the nosey neighbour s of our cul de sac. In fact they have fallen out with most of the street. I have however stood my ground. It's got to a point where we just don't acknowledge each other. Hence the surprise when I got the card this morning.

To be honest she is a bit of a snob. I live in the only rented bungalow in the cul de sac. I work hard as do my kids but she has had major issues with my renting. It has come up in several conversations (when we used to speak). She would often add the. "Well not sure why I'm including you. You live in rented"

Things have got progressively worse over the last 5 years. Once my kids leave home I'm out of here. X

Ha ha. That reminds me of the time I was having new beds delivered. I left my little clothes airer( which is usually in the hall) outside the front door. She phoned my letting agent to complain that I was drying clothes outside the house. When the agent called me I explained the situation and told them to ring her back and tell her to be grateful I wants drying my undies!!

Too late for that I'm afraid. I have spoken to both of my kids who have been harrassed tooand we came to a joint decision .

Don't wish them any harm but maybe now they will leave me and my kids alone. Xx

I've been here 5 years they were here before me. They have always hand delivered cards and vice versa since I moved in. This year the Shit really hit the fan. Too many things to mention and I have retaliated. I really had no intention of swapping cards or festivities withthem this year, too much water under the bridge. She watched me last night, delivering cards to my other neighbours and today got acard from them. No name, just my house number. No thought at all. Pissed me off a bit to be honest. Xx

Honey I know you're a bigger person than that! Send them one back! The old couple across the road decded I was a prostitute (3 meets in a month ffs! -don't accom now) and tried to get me and my children evicted - but I still sent them a card. But it was a thought. That's all that counts. Whilst I don't know the ins and outs and I don't want to, the reaction to go post it back or that you don't have the patience for her etc makes it seem that the issue is very much yours.

I understand it looks that way. Like you say without knowing the ins and outs it's hard to know my reason. I appreciate everyone has different thoughts on the post and I'm not usually a bitter person but this just felt like a bit of a nose rub rather than an olive branch x
